LS 11/20/2009 - La La La La.. La La La La...LB's game
Today's game comes to you from littlebeast. Littlebeast will get the high score for the day.
Take it away LB.
Since I came up with a glut of theme ideas for my upcoming Lyrically Speaking: Winter Edition®, I decided to go ahead and pull one for Weasel to use in his game. This game was originally slated to be one of my Theme Thursday games, but now you get to enjoy it 2 months early on a Friday. This is a theme I've been trying to put together for a few years now, and with Weasel's 22 point format, I was finally able to make it work well....
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and 2 points for the theme....
1. Caviar and cigarettes
Well versed in etiquette
Extraordinarily nice
2. Rebel souls
Deserters we are called
Chose a gun and threw away the sun
Now these towns
They all know our name
6-gun sound is our claim to fame
3. Burning them if you ain't quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi-hat with a souped up tempo
I'm on a roll and it's time to go solo
4. I stretched back and I hiccupped
Looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the tin pan
God there's got to be another way
5. Late night in the penthouse room, the fire is burning
Shadows are warm, laying in his arms she answers his yearning
Her eyes are filled with sand
6. I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime
7. I don't bother chasing mice around
I slink down the alley looking for a fight
Howlin' to the moonlight on a hot summer night
8. If every sign that l see is to complete
Then l'm a fool in your game
And all you want to do
Is tell me your lies
9. So many nights I longed to hold you
So many times I looked and saw your face
Nothing could change the way I feel
No-one else could ever take your place
10. And in the thundercloud
You see another cloud
Bones as big as sticks
Even angels were in Hell on the morning of the sixth
Take it away LB.

Lyrics with big fat clues! I venture to guess that this is Stray Cat Strut, by the ever-lovely Stray Cats.7. I don't bother chasing mice around
I slink down the alley looking for a fight
Howlin' to the moonlight on a hot summer night
If only I could recognize any of the other lyrics as being from Annie's Song, I could verify my working theory about the theme: Songs about critters at which Evil Squirrel likes to throw heavy objects.
Now generating the White Hot Glare of Righteousness on behalf of BBs everywhere.

ShamelessWeasel

Are there points for getting the day's title? Because when I first read it, I thought "lb did an LS game of Kathie Lee Gifford songs?" And, come to find out......ha!

LB the title is from "Elmo's song" on Sesame Street. As I said before the title usually has no relation at all to the game itself. Just what pops into my head as I am putting it together. Your Name fit the meter of the song (I am sorry to say).
