I presume this is a typo and Ken said the correct answer of 5280 feet and not 5200 feet since that wouldn't make much sense with the rest of the sentence and would be closer to a different answer?

Not a typo, but I presume it was a slip of the tongue by Ken. He did say "about 5200 feet" and then seemed to have mentally recalled the exact number by the time he got around to doing the multiplication. You're right that it did make his result sound a little odd.
