Ooohh. Nasty and could be an ugly distractor if you don't know Hattiesburg. But here's where Joel's logic about 1884 being too late for pioneering. I'm guessing a coastal town like Cape Hatteras was settled well before 1884.drew scheeler wrote:Cape Hatteras, NC.MarleysGh0st wrote:Sure, that was part of the question as they phrased it. Does Joel's performance put him in Schmoopieville? I think he was almost as unhelpful as Ali Wentworth. I haven't look back at his results but off the top of my head I think he did pretty poorly. I think his answer about today's (11/6)MarleysGh0st wrote:Of course, Joel's "go west" logic failed, too. Not seeing too much criticism of him, but maybe it is too early. Plus he looked like he took the time to comb his hair.

Clearly, Joel Stein is another pencil-necked geek who doesn't follow sports. <g>

Re: Transcript 11/05/09 - Jennifer Colgan
Most of us haven't seen today's show, yet. As for Hattiesburg, he failed on a "you know it or you don't" question and the "pioneer" wording of the question contributed somewhat to that. But he hasn't come close to a Shmoopie performance, yet. IMHO.Phil Ken Sebbin wrote:Does Joel's performance put him in Schmoopieville? I think he was almost as unhelpful as Ali Wentworth.
I'm sorry that Deborah Norville wasn't available for the whole week/taping day. It would have been interesting to see how she'd do with more questions.

Guess I'm just going off this particular stint. He may have just been having a bad day but I seem to recall him not knowing and often leading the contestant the wrong way.MarleysGh0st wrote:Joel Stein did well back in March-April. 6 for 6!

Jennifer says this would have to be a total guess. She walks away with $15,000.
