Maybe they've been up for weeks, I dunno. But I just checked, and here's the plan:

fly to San Francisco June 28
A's game June 29
Giants game June 30
train to Seattle July 1
Mariners game July 2
fly home July 3

Holler if you want in on a game!

There will be another plan for other cities, once I find out how much time off I can get and when. Some kind of KC-St. Louis combo, or maybe Detroit and Toronto.

But that train trip from SF to Seattle will be worth whatever it costs.

The train trip takes a full day but is not way expensive ($92/person plus $148/both for a roomette).

Why, yes! I have always wanted to do that one. They say it's the prettiest Amtrak ride there is.

The weeks plus or minus around the summer solstice are the great time to take an overnight train through scenery, since you gain a couple of hours of light. I had a personal favorite, but the train and the tracks and the equipment are long since departed. (TOR to OTT through the Rideau Lakes region to Smiths Falls, arriving about 0600h at the CN station there, which is now a museum. Dinky town had both CN and CP stations... )

The train from Oakland to Seattle is a cool idea! I did it back in 2001. The only caution is I wouldn't arrive the same day as the game even if the schedule appears to permit it (it might not anyway, I think it still arrives there eveningtime). Hours-long delays are common on that route due to conflicts with UP freight handling. So if the game is the 2nd, arrive on the 1st instead of leaving on the first. I was scheduled to arrive SEA dinnertime but arrived close to midnight. The delay, however, resulted in great view of Mt. Shasta in northern California which would have passed before sunrise.

Thanks. I did amend my schedule, as it says you leave OKJ in the evening and arrive SEA the next evening, too late for a game anyway. So I added a day at the end for the Mariners game and will fly home on the 4th.
