"1 vs. 100" returns Friday

I haven't seen any ads for it so I was surprised to see that my TiVo is set to record "1 vs. 100" Friday night at 8:00. The info says it's a battle of the sexes with a woman going against a group of men and vice-versa.

I did see a couple of commercials for it recently. I don't know if they've tweaked the game play or not, but they're teasing it as if they're giving away a lot more money.

If you can't be in the mob for a contestant of your own sex, that takes away all the prospective motivation for being a mob member.

Perhps they're trying to recreate the excitement of Friday Night Gender Defender.

They have tweaked the rules a bit, from what I have heard. There were five or six episodes taped as of October.

I know stuff:

1. The entire 8 or 9 episode run was taped in mid-September over three long days. Because of what I know about the first episode, it's more likely to be 8.

2. There's really only one key change to the rules. They've gone with the fixed prize level format they were originally considering. Every 10 mob members moves the 1 up one prize level. Still $1M for eliminating all 100. No prize until 10 mob members are eliminated.

3. The set is different, but not too different. The main change is there's now a huge screen in the centre of the mob. This is a much better layout as Bob Saget and the 1 will always be facing the mob.
