Actresses? That seems too simple but can't see another clear connection. June Foray makes me want to say voice work but other than perhaps Amy Sedaris I don't know enough about others to say if that is likely.

I know that Woods, Sedaris, and Warren did, and Foray MUST have in her long and illustrious career, so I will cross my fingers and say that all of these folks have played or voiced the role of Cinderella.

I saw Ilene Woods and thought YAY!, then I didn't see Adriana Caselotti and said RATS!

I know two things about Lesley Anne Warren and I know three things about Jennifer Beals and Cinderella is involved in both of them (to the chagrin of people around me, I will still break into "In My Own Little Corner" at the drop of a hat, ha!). But I know lots of stuff about Betty Hutton and I can't remember anything like that from her. Or from Rocket J. Squirrel, for that matter. Wait, did June Foray also do Fractured Fairy Tales? I hope so.

Since I can't imagine Kightlinger or Sedaris doing Cinderella except maybe in a sketch and I don't know any of these other people (and I'm probably too late anyway), I'll hedge and say:

Performances (voice or otherwise) in works based on the fairy tale Cinderella.

Fun games this month, mrkelley, even though I rocked a little and sucked a lot. And, best of all, they were usually there waiting for me when I posted my QOD (or shortly thereafter). Now I have to go look up Betty Hutton's resume. Ha!

Mr. K, I've played only a couple of times, but I want you to know that I've looked at the game every day. (Didn't recognize a single name on Soccer Player day!) You are helping me to expand my horizons or, more accurately, to give me a sharper picture of the areas about which I am most clueless.

Thank you for putting the game together.

1. Vilma Santos Alive 1974
2. Jennifer Beals Alive 1985
3. Betty Bronson Dead 1925
4. Betty Hutton Dead 1939 (her film debut)
5. Juanita Quigley Alive 1940
6. June Foray Alive (at 90 years young!) 1960
7. Lesley Anne Warren Alive 1965 (her debut)
8. Frances E. Nealy Dead 1975 (in “Darktown Strutters”)
9. Ilene Woods Alive 1950 (the one everyone thinks of)
10. Laura Kightlinger Alive 2004 (“DysEnchanted”)
11. Amy Sedaris Alive 2007 (Shrek the Third)

Theme: People who played Cinderella. I thought of this theme before the game even started, and knew I wanted to save it for the end. I admit to picking some pretty obscure Cinderellas, but I wanted to make the theme super-tough this time. I thought the combination of Lesley Anne Warren and Ilene Woods would be enough of a hint to the old-timers, and that Amy Sedaris might help the younger folks.

You were right, if it weren't for Ilene Woods and Lesley Anne Warren I don't think I would have gotten it (since I only thought of the Jennifer Beals one because of those two.)

So, was I right in that June Foray did a Cinderella-like character in a Fractured Fairy Tales?

A note on Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella: When I was a kid I loved loved loved that show! I knew all the words, even to the "names" song. (Maisie?? MAISIE!!) It was one of those 'wait for it all year' things like Wizard of Oz and The Ten Commandments. I feel kind of sorry for kids who can see anything they want anytime they want, it takes away appreciation and anticipation and nothing is special anymore.

Anyway, I hadn't seen it for years and years and was so excited to see it again a few years ago. I was so disappointed! What seemed so fancy and magical when I was a kid seemed so low budget and amateurish. One of those grown up 'oh, for the halcyon days of youth' moments.

I got the theme because I knew that Lesley Anne Warren, Amy Sedaris and Jennifer Beals had all played Cinderella.
