Absolutely the bestest category!

1. James
2. Mia Farrow's sister
3. Pete Best (Stu Sutcliffe was a bass player)
4. AARRRGGGHHH - I should know this but can't dredge it out of my brain
5. Wow - it could be George Martin or Billy Preston; both have been called that, and it could be Brian Epstein...I don't think even the Beatles were sure - I seem to recall George and Paul using the term to refer to different people. OK, caution to the winds - George Martin, final answer.

QoD - Norwegian Wood

5 point bonus #1 - Rose and Valerie
5 point bonus #2 - Steve Martin
"Elen sila lumenn omentielvo...A star shines on the hour of our meeting."

Bonus #2 - No clue. I'll say Meatloaf. I never saw this movie, as is probably obvious from my answer.

12-22 THE BEATLES

1. What is Paul McCartney’s first name?

JAMES

2. Who was “Dear Prudence” written about?

PRUDENCE FARROW

"Mia Farrow's sister" was acceptable, "That Prudence chick/babe/gal/doll/moll" was not.

3. Who was the original drummer for the Beatles?

PETE BEST

4. While still with the group, what was the only Beatles song that John Lennon recorded alone, accompanying himself with just an acoustic guitar?

JULIA Written about his mother, with a little Yoko thrown in (and, in my opinion, inspired by Kahlil Gibran)

5. Lots of people have been called “The Fifth Beatle” but Paul McCartney has stated that if anyone was the fifth Beatle it was this man.

BRIAN EPSTEIN

Whether most deserving or not, that's what Paul said.

QOD: What was the first Beatles song to feature the sitar?

NORWEGIAN WOOD

5 Point Bonus: What were the names of the women screaming from the gallery in “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer”?

ROSE and VALERIE

5 Point Bonus Bonus: Who played Maxwell in the movie Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (apparently I was the only person in the known universe who liked the movie, ha!)?

STEVE MARTIN

I love Maxwell's Silver Hammer and I think it gets short shrift because it's a cabaret type song (which is, of course, why I love it. Ha!)

Hmm..Re Q5, I've also heard Macca say the same about George Martin. Paul has been known to change his opinions on similar matters, of course..being the most PR-conscious of the Fabs.

I have decided to blame him, not you, for my incorrect answer.

I suffer great embarrassment at missing a Beatle-related trivia q.

This was a McCartney quote from "The Brian Epstein Story" which is why I phrased it as I did, since this is one of those 'everybody has said somebody different at some point' things (I think George Harrison gave his vote to George Martin).
