seriously!
I think Dimmzy may need to come and visit you to do a little decluttering.
I think not. I am rather good at organization and might could teach dimmzy a thing or two myself.

What's a hair crimper? (I'm serious.)

You've discussed driving to Nebraska to visit Appa?

(FYI, beast, you've got a request in the WG thread.)
To my knowledge, I have never discussed driving to Nebraska to see anyone!

I could dig up some pictures of the Beast Sisters from the 80's and give you a pretty good idea, but I am pressing my luck with their avatar....

We were gonna drive west to visit Fanny as I recall. Since you'd have to drive right through here, I wouldn't even be 10 minutes out of your way to pick up. I've got the radio covered through the state of Missouri....

Only if you were actually driving to Nebraska.....

70 would be a much better route to get to Colorado.....

That's not what mapquest says...and since you've never driven to CO from CT (have you?) I'm more inclined to believe mapquest...you're a bit biased!

Mapquest is a bit of a joke.... but trust me, you'd want to take 70 (If for no other reason to completely bypass Chicago)..... especially since it runs only about 5 miles from my house.......

It would even make a good halfway point...... there's plenty of parking out back.....

No, Tyra Banks doesn't come by and crimp your hair.

I figured Kay must not know what crimped hair was because if you know what crimped hair is, I don't think you'd ask what a hair crimper is.

Do you know what a flat iron looks like? Not the old kind your grandma used on the clothes, but the big flat paddled thing you draw through your hair to straighten it? A crimper is along the same lines only the panels look like corrugated cardboard. And instead of pulling it through your hair, you squeeze it in there until it's fried, then move it down the length of hair, repeat until you get to the end. Then you go to the next section of hair.

And I don't know why I thought the brand of mine was Tiara, it's Helen of Troy. (Because we all know that Helen of Troy had her hair crimped to within an inch of its life, right?)

So, does it work on hair that is straight as a stick? Everyone in my family has very straight hair.
Maybe that's why we dint have a hair crimper.

Yes, it does, but you have to leave it on longer (hence the 'until it's fried' comment). Used to take me HOURS to do it. So I wouldn't wash my hair for like three days after I crimped it so it would stay in.

I think crimping came back into vogue a few years ago because my niece wanted me to give her my hair crimper. Since I could still weave my way through my house between the piles of newspapers from 1983, I wouldn't give it to her.

But I got her one for her birthday or Christmas that year that was a combination, it had reversible panels, one side was flat and the other side was crimped.

Maybe you could play by yourself by putting the table up against the wall, or would that just be too pathetic?

Maybe you should come over and teach me how to play.....

lb13
Whoops, I didn't realize there was a page 2 and 59865033 people had already suggested the playing by yourself thing.

It would be difficult for me to teach you since you'd never manage to return one of my wicked left spin serves. Best to get some solo practice in first so you'll at least know what it's like to hit the ball.

Have you ever seen the episode of King of Queens where Arthur takes on Doug as a ping pong student? It's somewhat Karate Kid-ish and very funny.
I love KOQ! I never watched during its original run, but discovered it in syndication. Hilarious. Arthur cracks the heck outta me, and of course Doug is an absolute riot. Haven't seen the ping pong episode though.

Hey, what about setting up the table in the backyard? I mean, store it in the garage or whatever, but keep it out there when the weather's nice. You could practice with the back up, and then have the family over for ping pong night once a week/month! And let me know when you have a party, I need a good excuse to swing by and visit my MIL. (just kidding; she's sweet.)

And what's this ugly business? I've seen your ROF pic and have declared your cuteness!!
