I noticed that. Kind of gives us a feel for the ratio of written-test-passers to contestants. In other words, it's not personal -- it's the numbers. Never give up, never surrender. --Bob

But did'nt I just see you, like 3 weeks ago? I would have surely been late for any plans we might have had anyway. We missed our 5:45PM audition by 8 minutes. We told the cabby 57 W. 66th St., no less than 6 times, even showed him the written address, yet we somehow wound up on W. 57th St.! Luckily, we were able to get in to the 6:15PM audition, on the stand-by line.

When I auditioned on Tuesday, the AP running it was encouraging people to come back later in the week if they didn't pass the test. She listed the audition times for the rest of the week and made it clear that one had a very good chance of getting into an audition from the standby line.

No, no videotaped interview Actually, I was kind of surprised, as yesterday's audition went just as well, or so it seemed, as last season's, when we were asked to stay for the 2nd interview. Since we had an additional questionaire to fill out, we were the last two to be interviewed.There was at least one other guy--I actually gave them the address for this bored--who also seemed to have a great audition, but no one in our group was given a second interview. It was a packed room, the most I've ever seen at an audition, and there were 9 passers. Someone did ask if there are going to be any more road auditions. The response was that, although there are none scheduled at this time, they may decide to do a few more in August. I apologize if that is old news, but I am very far behind on all the posts here. They did not mention the phone game at the audition, and those with whom we stood in line did not even realize it had returned.

Yes, that is true. That's why I figured we were lucky to get in on the stand-by line. They also mentioned that there will be 7 test sessions, between noon and 5PM this Friday, and encouraged those who did not pass, to come back and try again.

That's a pretty low passing rate. Have they tweaked up the passing threshold?

The info about the auditions is interesting. TPTB did say that there would be nine road trips this season, but there's been no official update since the first six were completed. And now they're still thinking about whether to do more in August???

Not added, but always there. The website listed the noon till 5:00 time during signup period. I didn't think my noon audition would take the entire five hours. Though if they found me that fascinating ...

But seven sessions? That seems like at least one too many. I'd figure a minimum of an hour each.

Oh, my mistake. I thought they stuck with all evening auditions, this season.

It would have been nice for them to schedule a Saturday audition, like they did once on each of the past two years, so out-of-towners wouldn't have to use vacation days to attend.

Either tweaked up the passing threshold or made the test a bit harder.

As I reported, only 8 passed at my audition from a full room. In the past, that number would be more like 20-25. When I took the test, it "felt" more difficult because there were more questions than usual that I wasn't 100% certain about.
