Spoiling on QODs

#1 Post by fantine33 » Tue Dec 18, 2007 7:52 am

I know there have been a few questions about this and people have handled it different ways. I covered it in my 'this is how it works' post at the beginning of the month, but it's easier to just make a new post than to try and find it way back wherever.

While you shouldn't edit your post to change or add to an answer, going back to put the spoiler is fine (and appreciated). The spoiler is not necessarily to hide the answers from prying eyes (if people want to cheat, it's not going to bother them to click "show"), it's mainly to save my scrolling finger on my little laptop mouse. Especially if I score in sections, then I'm not scrolling past the same stuff a bunch of times. Although it does keep the honest people from just scrolling down a wee bit on accident and accidently seeing anything. Plus it makes posts look nice and neat.

The easiest way I find to do it is, when I quote the original, I just replace the "quote" in the brackets with "spoiler" before I start to answer.

As for peacock (I think) asking whether it was okay to not answer when you first read the QOD, of course it's okay! Mini and I wait until we've gone through the grocery store singing the LS lyrics before we answer (for all the good it does us, ha!). I should practice what I preach on DorA, but I like to at least try and salvage a score with a guess at the theme.
