back to the Thyroid seesaw
TSH levels were over 25 last month, so my endocrindologist has put me on a drug called Methimazole to inhibit the production of thyroid hormone.
I had been feeling tired again, but was balancing that with massive insomnia...go figure. Dropped another 10 pounds, so I'm just topping 120 ....i'm 5ft 6in, so that is waaaay to light.
Apparantly, on top of that I have a cardiac arythmia, my resting pulse rate is around 90. So, if the anti-thyroid medication doesn't slow it down, I will have to go on something for that as well.
Ahhh. such fun.

I'm assuming it was the T4 level that was high, not your TSH.a1mamacat wrote:TSH levels were over 25 last month, so my endocrindologist has put me on a drug called Methimazole to inhibit the production of thyroid hormone.

A high TSH level indicates low thyroid hormone levels.

Yes, it was the T4, not the TSH. Too many Ts going on LOL. I guess the T3 has been about the same, but the T4was the one the went from 15 to 25 in about 3 months. I'm hoping the medicine will work just by itself, without having to look at the other options. I'll just have to eat alot this holiday season, and not feel guilty about itthguy65 wrote:I'm assuming it was the T4 level that was high, not your TSH.a1mamacat wrote:TSH levels were over 25 last month, so my endocrindologist has put me on a drug called Methimazole to inhibit the production of thyroid hormone.
