If there is some optimistic BB whose parade we've shat on, I'll apologize to him or her. But, having been on this quest for somewhat longer than you were, the veteran auditioners tend to fall in one of two categories:
1. Those who continue to pursue a forlorn hope.
2. Those whose discouragement has led them to stop tilting at windmills.

Okay I'm in a bad mood because I got a speeding ticket on my way to work.

But my point is, a little more positivity might help. Why don't you embrace it and put your energy into coming up with something creative instead of just naysaying it right off the bat. I know you've had a long and hard road, and I'm sorry. But this is something you haven't tried yet, so how do you know??? You don't!!!! I don't want to fight either, I want you to turn that frown upside down and start making a video!!!

I did a video for Power of Ten.

I got invited to Atlantic City for an audition based off that video.

Before that, I had crashed and burned at two WWTBAM auditions.

Believe me, being able to script and edit makes a big difference in presentation.

I probably will do this. Seems like fun.

Who are the "so many" being referred to? AFAIK, only ghostjmf has complained about the timing of the online test.

My own presumption is that the online test, like Jeopardy's online test, will go by much too fast to allow for googling.

I may have exaggerated. My sense was that more than just ghost did not read the entire rules - even jeemie was not clear about being given a time (distinct from time limit) to take the test. I think I remember someone earlier not being clear about that as well.

And, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but there is the risk that a person could google during the online test. So, double threat that an unqualified person could get through.

Hey if someone wants to google during the online test, that's their choice. I, however, wouldn't want to get on a game show by looking up the answers and look like a complete idiot on camera. I always wonder, when I watch if the people that miss one of the first few questions, if they are just nervous or maybe they cheated off their trivia savvy friends test and then got lucky enough to pass the interview.

I really do not see how somebody who would not ordinarily pass the test could google enough to do so. If it's anything like the Jeopardy onlinel test there's, what, 10 or 15 seconds between questions? Even having somebody else reading the questions and googling for them would be very difficult to get more than a few that way. Besides, by being so intent on googling instead of actually reading the question, that might make you miss some questions that you'd get just by looking at it and trying to answer!

As for people cheating off their friends and getting lucky just because they miss an early question? There were a few that seemed to be out of their depth early (like the Jeremy guy Uly mentions), it's easier to have somebody else do the phone test or to get lucky, but he still won a FF. I sometimes think that's a little like comparing apples to oranges, though. Supplying the right answer out of four is a little different skill set than having four right answers and putting them in order.

I'd like to think that I know a thing or two about a thing or two, but there has been at least once that I would have left with zero (probably more than that). If they'd given me Stendahl Syndrome or Howard O'Brien for $500? No problem! Ask me how many wheels on a wheelbarrow? Three!
