A Bored Festivus - The Airing of Grievances

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Thu Dec 13, 2007 10:54 pm

We will deal with the Feats of Strength and the Festivus Miracles later.

Or not.

But first is the Airing of Grievances, in which we list the ways in which people have disappointed us.

PSM has never used a placenta as her avatar. Wait. That's not a grievance.

Pea doesn't ... oh nevermind.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Hmmm, I am a little crackers at times.

I have certainly cooked enough food in the EOSB&G.

Sorry to have dissappointed you.

But I do think I can live with it!

I live in Placentia, not Placenta. But since you are such a nice person, I am glad that you don't have a grievance with me.

I had never heard of Festivus until Ken Jennings's final game.

How'd they let you live in New York (okay, Long Island) without watching Seinfeld?

Speak for yourself there, Thread Stopper. At least when I stop threads, I also take the time to clean them up....
