If the author block at the side of the screen isn't enough of an identification, you could always use the signature feature to attach it automatically.
And then I wouldn't have to delete the superfluous signature, every time I'm quoting you!
Why does it have to be deleted? Is that some ingrained OCD habit that you can't shake, even though you don't need to?
When I'm replying to a quote, I take some time to edit the quoted message so that I'm only quoting the relevant portion of the text, and the "lb13" portion is not relevant, since his name already appears at the top of the quote box. This effort is consistent with my stand against gratuitous pyramid building, which fills pages with hundreds and hundreds of lines of duplicated text to add a one-line response to the bottom of it. I'm talking the talk and walking the walk, here!
It's four characters! How many "lb13"s could you have left in before they took up as many lines as this thread has just so far?
And his name does not appear at the top of the quote box for some people who haven't figured out how (or just refuse) to quote from the original post or type ="xxx" into the html tags.

Annie, (sorry that your smiley thingie didn't copy) I don't think you've
ever posted anything you were afraid to sign. And even before Lizbit got her own account, you always let us know you were typing
for her (& I might mention spelling better than she does, too).

I do. Ha ha!
So, I guess sometimes I don't delete the "lb13" part.
That makes me OCD

So this thread is an investment with a long, future payout!
And that's how things can work around here, when lots of people get involved in a question to one individual.
Better than the usual Friday afternoon doldrums, eh?

Ah, but that would make it perfectly anonymous, wouldn't it? Perhaps he's been taking some correspondence courses from THE Estonut's Evil Genius Hut....

I encourage the use of signatures in all posts whether they're cowardlypostsigners or otherwise. If I MUST wade through those dumbass pyramids, looking for even the tiniest nuggest of anything informative, and I wonder who wrote what, at least I don't have to scroll back up to the top to see who the author is. So sign away.............

That would be assuming that you actually get lb to change his ways. So your premise is flawed from the start. Ha!
PS Note how I edited out the superfluidity in the quote. Every little bit helps (said the farmer who peed into the Arno during the drought)!

Truncating the pyramids is one of my primary campaign planks, DK! If we get enough BBs to endorse it, we can convince tubadave to activate the Bored control to cap them automatically!

What if he's afraid of those posters that do most of the pyramid thingies?

So along the same lines, should I stop the blatant advertising in my signature?
I am thinkig I will anyway.

The funny thing is that beast was still here when I asked my question and then he promptly disappeared. The thread may be several pages long by the time he comes back!

That's a different issue that I won't get into now. But at least your signature advertising isn't copied when somebody quotes you, which was my point, way back at the top of this thread.

I think part of the fun for those people that do it is knowing that it annoys several posters when they make the pyramids.
