I have not researched Ike's personal life, so I have no opinion about that. Most stories have at least two sides. I can only comment about what I've seen first hand, and I think Ike was great. I saw him and his band play Antone's club in Austin a few years ago and he put on a fantastic show. He was still at the top of his game on both the guitar and the piano. He and his band also wore some truly sharp zoot suits.
Many musicologists credit Ike for writing and recording the first rock and roll song, Rocket 88, which is a timeless classic.

I'm sorry none of us will get another chance to see Ike perform. I hope he has done more good than bad on Earth and I wish him the best in the afterlife.
