and I had a run-in this morning.

I lost.

It included words like:

I am annoyed.

This is not a mess of my making.

Let me explain this to you.

This is poor customer service.

Three times I answered the question "Is there anything else I can help you with?" by saying "You can help me with the problem your company created."

I even chatted with the supervisor.

I asked him if he was going to give me good customer service or if he was just going to repeat what Shawn said.

He did not answer that question.

Or let me talk to someone who can fix it.

I am now up to talking to the supervisor's supervisor.

At least he is in the USA.

That's a plus right there!

And you can threaten to drive over and rip his lungs out through his nose, to boot!

Not like you would.

Would you?

Progress!

What's the problem they're not helping you with?

They sent something USPS to my home. The order form would not let me send to a PO Box. USPS will not come here.

They kept telling me that USPS delivers to physical addresses.

I kept saying "They don't to mine."

So what does the USPS do with packages addressed to your home that they don't drive to? Can you go down to the post office (where your P.O. box may be) and pick it up yourself?

Do you and the USPS have some prior history you haven't told us about?

I know they won't deliver to homes with dogs that bite.

Perhaps something similar? :P

They are returned as undeliverable.

We are a private road. They do not deliver to private roads.

There are no mailboxes in the town where I have my beach house. EVERYone has a PO box! I've never even seen a mail truck on the whole island!

The postmaster in town and I had a little bit of a run in. He yelled at me so much he spit. I had not gone to the PO Box much, so it was jammed with junk mail. He was so mad - he told me I could not renew the box.

He was a bit stressed out. He later apologized.

He still said I couldn't rent a box there.

I am being punished.

We all do as well.

It's a 45 minute round trip for me to get the mail.

I resist making a trip only for the mail.

Especially if it the kind of mail that just goes into my recycling bin without crossing my threshhold! And I have to go to the end of my driveway. My old mailbox was on the porch, so the mailman had to walk his route.

I bet if they had to lug that shit door-to-door more, they'd just recycle it, too....

Just thinking through this problem -- do you have any friends who have a physical address to which USPS will deliver?

The problem is, the thing is in transit. They will not do anything until it is returned by the Post Office. By then, it will be too late for Christmas.

I am just going to get the watch elsewhere.

I used to order scads of stuff from Overstock, including basically all of my Christmas shopping, for several years. Before anybody knew who they were, prices were great and service was great.

Two years ago, I had a four month haggle with them that was the worst customer service ever. After months of contradicting themselves, lying and ignoring it when I'd send them the previous "explanation" that said the exact opposite, they ended up saying they no longer had the item I had been trying to get them to send since I had ordered it three months previously and very kindly left me a link so that I could turn around and order the exact same item, only at a higher price and paying extra shipping that I had already paid on my previous order (which they, of course, did not credit back). They finally just started ignoring my emails, I guess since they couldn't even come up with a half assed explanation for that one.

Probably not coincidentally, that was around the time they started up with the commercials and advertisements and thinking they were hot shit. I have not ordered from them since. I will pay more, if necessary, at Amazon (which is less and less the case, since their prices aren't that fabulous anymore). And that is something I rarely do (pay more than I have to).

They keep sending me "special" offers and saying they miss me. I tell them all I need is a logical and simple explanation of our last dealing. They never answer.

I copied and saved my chat conversation with both Shawn and Maurice.

It was a joke.
