Hermillion report
Hermillion and Josie are staying with her daughter, who had electricity. . . until 9 p.m. last night. There's virtually no power in Tulsa, and won't be for days, because not only are lines down, but houses have had their individual wires knocked down. The regular phones also are out. Nancy said she has gasoline and a car recharger for the cell phone, so she's not completely out of touch. She also recharged her laptop before discovering that all the wireless access outfits are down. They have plenty of food and candles (from Pottery Barn, the daughter's employer. Let it not be said that the Hermillion cannot be stylin' under any circumstances.)
Daughter's boyfriend has a chainsaw, too -- except it's electric.
Think good thoughts for her and everybody in Tulsa!

Not a very good way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of her winning the big prize. Oy.
Thinking good thoughts for the hermillion clan, who cannot be having too much fun right now.
Wait a minute, scratch that.
If I know her, they're finding a way to make this temporary inconvenience MORE fun than normal life.

ARGGHH! I meant to remember my air date, and forgot it. Two years ago - or is it three - December 9? Time flies, as does my mind.
THanks for the Hermillion update - everyone stay safe!!

Reviewing my notes (which aren't nearly as voluminous as beast's, but I have some) that was three years ago -- 2004! And you were a carry-over contestant to the December 10 episode, too.tlynn78 wrote: ARGGHH! I meant to remember my air date, and forgot it. Two years ago - or is it three - December 9? Thinking about it now, Dec. 9th might have been the day I got The Call two years ago.tlynn78 wrote:Not a very good way to celebrate the 5th anniversary of her winning the big prize. (IIRC, she taped December 9, 2002)

Great, so I missed two anniversaries. THe mind is gone, indeed. I do remember what an amazing time I had, both during and after, thanks to a number of peeps here. Thanks to you all, and I'm still determined to stay around til each of you gets your shot, so don't think you'll be rid of me anytime soon.Reviewing my notes (which aren't nearly as voluminous as beast's, but I have some) that was three years ago -- 2004! Here are the details of my trip:
They're flying me and a companion to WDW in Orlando on Thu. Jan. 12. My return
is Sun. Jan. 15. Just as we figured. The flight Thu. will be as early as
possible and the return Sun. will be as late as possible.
I will tape Fri. Jan. 13 or Sun. Jan 15 is there were problems Fri.
They pay for the trip, but of course I'll get a 1099.
Unfortunately for me (but not for her) my girlfriend will be working on a TV
pilot at that time and won't be able to go with me. I'll probably take my daughter.
That's it for now. I don't know which resort I'll be in.

Who knows, it might have been. That was right after I bought my Neon, and the only time I ever had to shovel it out....
Mr. Seat 9 Curse AlphaDummy's show did air that night (the night of the snowstorm, not the call... I think that was, ick, BDM's show on the 12th)....
