Ah, the missing contestant finally makes it to the Hot Seat - and only gets to answer two questions before the horn.

But that's okay, as long as she doesn't disappear again from
today's show!

What happened to her the first time? I missed the 'missing' episode.

Funny you should mention that – I missed the first five minutes of
today’s show, but tuned in to see another contestant sitting there instead.
I hope she’s not another carryover llama, her chain of thought broken by Meredith and her out-of-time horn again…

Near the end of last Friday's show, she was introduced as the on-deck contestant.

But then, after Richard Winegar carried over to Monday, TPTB apparently decided to re-randomize the next contestant in the Hot Seat (according to clem, who was awaiting his turn to tape) and a different contestant followed Richard, without a word of what happened to Tracy!

That is correct. Tracy did ask the people why they did it, but they didn't say...
Regardless, the order it's being shown IS the order it actually happened in...

The carry-over from Friday's episode to Monday's really was from one taping day to the next, wasn't it, clem? TPTB probably decided that such a situation presented too much of an opportunity for someone to sneak the questions to her, which wouldn't have been the case if there had only been a short taping break on the same day. Thus the need to randomly select a different contestant for Monday's show.

Well yeah it was, but how would someone have given her the questions?

It would have to be some insider who had access to the question stack. Certainly, it's an unlikely scenario, but since the quiz show scandal of the '50s, that's just the sort of thing they have all sorts of protocols to prevent.

Well, thankfully, she made it to $1,000, before missing the $2,000 freebie.
Though based on what others have said here, one has to wonder how much further she could have gone if someone else wasn't given her original stack of questions.
(Remember those 'Who will go all the way?' trailers from a couple of months ago? Not a sausage so far.
They're desperate for a jackpot winner, but they're also desperate for ratings, if recent posts on BuzzerBlog are true.)
