Who set the over/under at 3.5 episodes? The overs have won! :)

So, in this "reality" show of a town full of kids with no adults in sight, we have a brand new topic arise among the kids' conversation that conveniently coincides with this week's prescient page from the Book of 1885--religion!

Not one glimpse of a chicken or an egg since episode two. Is Greg still in the butcher business or are they subsisting on biscuits and fried potatoes? Or not even that, perhaps, since the Yellow Team, nobly unled by Queen Taylor, isn't doing their job. Are they at least sneaking the kids some vitamins, so they don't come down with scurvy?

Will the revolution begin this week? Not a single student shows up when summoned by the town council for the mandated ecumenical service.

No, wait! The Book of 1885 says that "elections" will be next week's theme, so kindly put that revolution on hold, kids.

Taylor, you are so going to be booted out of office!

Maybe the kids are athiests or feel that religion is a private matter and shouldn't be shoved down their throats.

It's almost as if the kids feel the secret twenty-odd page contract for this town should have a Bill of Rights or something!

But I just want to see a revolution against TPTB and their quislings, the town council. I don't particularly care what issue becomes the trigger for it.

What were these kids paid, $5,000 for the length of the show? It wouldn't be worth it to me to have to exist in front of the camaras 24/7 with all of these rules.

The show hasn't officially mentioned that, but that's what I've read. Plus, if it continues for 13 weeks, there's a one in three chance that a kid will earn one of those $20K gold stars.

And then it's on to Hollywood!

One more thing about this week's episode: It's obvious that the kids are bored out of their minds most of the time (they're obviously not busy working) and desperate for some entertainment. What'll we do today, have a seltzer water fight or go chase the cows again?

So it was really surprising to me when the town council allowed the town to vote on which award to choose and the majority went for the library of holy books over the miniature golf course.

One more comment to add (in a subtle maneuver to bump the thread, hoping someone else will join PSM and me in the conversation)...

The illusion of this "reality" show is that they're way out in the middle of nowhere, rebuilding a ghost town. And the only supplies they have are the canned goods they carted in, plus a few chickens and goats.

But at least twice now, we've seen the kids amuse themselves by going over to chase/watch the cattle.

Cattle...

So, since we're supposed to pretend this isn't really a working cattle ranch/movie ghost town set, and since Greg told us that he's had experience slaughtering a cow as well as those chickens, when will the kids decide it's time for a barbecue? 8)
