If You are Vh1's Beyotch

#1 Post by fantine33 » Sat Dec 08, 2007 8:07 am

Then you'll love this! Then again, if you are Vh1's beyotch, you've probably already seen the adverts.

The newest reality show coming in January is....

Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew

I read something about this awhile back and thought it was somebody making a joke about Vh1 and their Celebreality. No, it's for real! The previews showed Jeff Conaway crying and carrying on while Dr. Drew Pinsky tried to look reasonable.

Don't threaten me with a good time, Vh1.

The sad thing is that I have known about this show for a while.

I have been suggesting it to Marley as a replacement for Kid Nation. He isn't interested.

I will never forgive VH1 for turning the formerly wonderful VH1 Classic channel into VH1 Lite. I used to watch it several hours a day when it first got added to my cable package. I hardly ever watch it anymore, because everytime I turn it on, they've got a movie, concert, or one of their old stupid Rockumentaries on....

I guess playing music videos just isn't a profitable business anymore....

When I had Comcast, Vh1 Classic was a crapshoot, since there wasn't specific programming listed in the on screen guide. Now that I have DirecTv, I get to see the listings.

You must just be watching at the wrong time. Everytime I see the listings they were doing Metal Mania or We are the 80's, both of which are jake with me.

Speaking of the 80's, I have tickets to the Nuggets game, it's 80's night at the Can....and we have a stupid snowstorm after being in the 70's all week so I am stuck watching the game at home. In HD, but it's still at home.

I am not pleased.

Up until about a year and a half ago, it was all videos all the time (They were played in 8 hours blocks, repeated 3 times each day). You had the 80's, 70's and even 60's, Rock Fest, Metal Mania, Pop Show, and the all inclusive All Star Jams. I used to have it on the majority of the time I was awake late on Wednesday nights, but from evening until 3 friggin' AM it is nothing but special programming... and then it's the ^%^&*( Alternative when they do finally get around to videos. What sucks even worse is our cable company dropped The Tube, so now I don't see videos much at all anymore...

Dr Drew got on my radar way back during the OJ trial. We were out in California and we did the OJ loop - the crime scene, Rockingham, The Mezzaluna, etc. We were driving back to our hotel and got on one of those freeways. Some 'talk show' came on the rdaio and we listened with our mouth hanging open. I think it was the radio version of Lovelines.

I finaly spoke when someone called in and sopke about playing chase the gummie bear and no matter how much chasing his toungue did, he could not find the gummie bear and he wanted to know if it would eventually 'just dissolve' or should she got have it found at the doctors.

Sting and I can still start giggling when someone mentions gummie bears.

Oh - we ended up going the wrong way on that freeway - 40 miles the wrong way before we realized it.

That was probably the 405. I don't see how anyone could do that - even if distracted by gummy bears.

To sorta quote somebody else's signature, I don't think that means what you think it means. I think it means they went north when they really wanted to go south or vice versa.

I knew she didn't mean driving on the wrong side! I still don't see how they did that.

If you don't know that area, it's really easy to go the wrong way on a Freeway. I know a lot of people who go the wrong direction when they are trying to get from the 91 to the 405 via the 110.

Once we took the wrong exit leaving Casa Bonita (yes, South Park fans, there really IS a Casa Bonita in Denver!) and didn't realize we were going north until we saw a mileage sign for Cheyenne, Wyoming (it was late night at the time).

But the burning (ha!) question remains: What was the gummi bear answer?

As an update that nobody cares about, but will help explain to any QODers who stop by, we would have had to stay clear to the end of the game. With .4 seconds left, AI ices it with two free throws. But the worst part, not only was it 80's night....

THE HALFTIME ENTERTAINMENT WAS TONE-LOC! TONE-LOC!!!!1

My sister and I were so pissed. All this morning we'd just turn to each other at random times and yell "TONE-LOC!"

And this was after how many pitchers of margaritas? :P

I've been there. I would have thought someone would have noticed after passing I-70 and the Boulder exit.

I used to live in South Park.

I was a teenager at the time. My uncle was driving and was probably busy clowning around with everybody (we're a boisterous bunch when we're in a group). Had it been day, I'm sure we would have noticed beforehand. (This was also a long time ago when Denver wasn't sprawled down clear to Castle Rock.)

You lived in South Park? Isn't that a manufactured town like "Historic Williamsburg" up by Fairplay? Unless you're talking about living in the southern part of Park County.

I have a certain fondness for Tone Loc that can only come from taking kids to an obscure and now defunct WDW attraction.

We have a couple transplants who say the same thing about having lived in South Park, and they do mean the latter.

I have a good rule for living in Colorado: Never drive across South Park in a ground blizzard.

What sucks more is that your cable company didn't just drop The Tube- the station went out of business. I don't have cable and that was one of the few channels I got with the old rabbit ears, so I really miss it a lot.

It was on the same tier as VH1 Classic, just one channel up, so I figured it was just a dropee.

I guess just playing music videos isn't profitable after all.... :(

I'm watching VH1 Classic right now. They are playing "We Are The 80's".

They have just shown 4 Beatles videos, CCR's Proud Mary, and now Joni Mitchell performing Big Yellow Taxi...

They're on the ball today...
