COMMERCIAL BREAK

Pete plays keyboards for a rock band called "The Restless Ones," but Pete's motto in the hotseat is a different musical term: "piano, piano" (which literally means "soft, soft" but colloquially means "calm down"). Pete's grandmother, who passed away a few years ago, was a big Millionaire fan, and told Pete he should try out, but to go slow and calm down.

Pete has earned the ATE lifeline, and returning today is Bill Nye the Science Guy.

$2,000 (Book Nook): The 2008 novel "The Widows of Eastwick" is the follow-up to a 1984 work with which of these words in its title?
A. Mistresses B. Witches
C. Temptresses D. Vixens

Pete reads the question and answer (21), and Travis begins to google after asking him to spell "leaper". With 3 seconds left, Travis says, "
Spoiler
It may be salmon, Pete. It may be salmon
" and time runs out.

Pete decides to use the ATE (16). Bill doesn't know from the Latin root, but begins to ruminate about the fish themselves, saying "
Spoiler
flounder are lying on the bottom, mackerels just swim around, tuna go very fast, but salmon are the only ones I know of that leap.
" But he's not sure that their name is from the Latin, as he doesn't recognize it as such.

Sounds like the J! mantra - STAY CLAM!

Judging from the types of fish mentioned it would seem that salmon would be the logical answer. Since this is only a $4K question it's probably not a WWOQ, so go with the obvious.

Bitten has a great peacock feather t-shirt I have been coveting.

Walking with $4,000. Made me sad.

Not quite "IBM Model M keyboard" loud, but LOUD.
