New betting pool

#1 Post by mrkelley23 » Mon Dec 03, 2007 11:57 am

No money at stake, just pride points. Post your prediction in this thread.

Our next gus is at 20000 posts. We stand at about 16700 as of the time of this post (to 3 sig figs, anyway). Please put your prediction as to Date and time (Bored time, please) that we achieve 20000 posts.

I'll go first: Tuesday, Dec. 11, 9:45 AM.

All someone has to do is promise me some yellow tulips and I will make sure their prediction comes true.

Please don't ever ask that of BobJuch. The answer is always yes.

You 'better at math' people help me out here. For us to not get it done until Christmas Eve, means less than 200 posts a day, is that right?

I could do that all by myself. Get me and PSM going and we could do that without even breaking a sweat.

I am not allowed to enter betting pools on the computer, ever since that time Rusty and I used my mom's credit card for a sure-fire bet on his goofy cousin at the racetrack.

I am not allowed to bet on things, and Rusty is no longer permitted to think that his relatives are faster than anybody else's relatives.

It was a sad day.

Speaking of bumping.

We're over 17000 now. I think I misunderestimated the percentage increase in posting rates, thanks to all the Bored Games going on.

Bumpity-bump.

We'll probably cross the 18000 threshhold today.

I'm notoriously bad about picking such things, but being 2000+ posts away and the likelihood that the gus chase will accelerate posting, I'd say next Thursday, 9:42AM, and the poster who will get the gus is PSM.

:)

It probably won't be me. Though I like chasing guses, I never seem to get them when I try for them.

Looks like nobody will get the right day on this one.

We're only a little over 450 posts away, and that's barely more than an average posting day around here lately. I think 20k's gonna fall sometime tomorrow, maybe even before noon.

I'm just doing my part for the total buildup, and to keep mrk from being the last post in too many threads. He hates that....

Is aj around?

I'll do some heavy lifting for an hour or so if he is here to get the gus.

It's gonna take a lot of "heavy lifting" - we're still slightly under 300 posts away.
