The Bernie Madoff School of Fine Art

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri Mar 27, 2009 8:23 am

New York art dealer accused of stealing $88 million from investors, including John McEnroe, by selling the same painting multiple times.

Apparently, he sold "shares" in the paintings, that, in true Producers fashion, added up to more than the entire painting. Some of the paintings were by Robert De Niro, Sr., father of the actor.

Since when do the rich and famous buy shares in a painting?

How do you display that on your wall?

What a great idea! I'm going to start selling of shares in my portraits....

Anyone want to buy 50 shares of Marley?
Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

Is it on black velvet?

Actually it's on my bathroom wall. It could use a squirt of two of Tilex to bring out the beauty, but other than that....

Are you sure that's Tilex?
