I have a special request.
Can you please send happy thoughts to Miss Denise through your eyelids? She apparently is very distraught because her Owls lost. She is walking around and, even when I rub her with my cane (which she likes very much), it doesn't seem to make her happy. Maybe it's because she knows I am sad.
She has an Owl, you see, and she sleeps with it. It is very fluffy and has a little Temple sweater and Miss Denise likes it very much.
I tried to explain that she can see her friend Dionte Christmas in the NBA and that there will be another season next year. But, this is Miss Denise's first year as a basketball fan and she doesn't realize that it happens again next year.
I am hoping that someone experienced in such things as yourself will help get her through.
Yes, ma'am, Miss Melly. I will do my very best. It may take me a little while to get through to her, because cats are sometimes too stubborn to close their eyes, look at their lids, and open their minds. (I meant that as an observation, not a criticism.) But I will get through eventually, and I will do my level best to cheer her up. I suspect she currently is feeling bad for you, Miss TLAF, and Mr. Dionte as much as for herself, because Denise is not a selfish kind of girl.

That's what I look like when I'm thinking really hard
Missanniecamaro --
Than you for whatever you said to Denise. She is feeling much better. She is settled onto the coach and is not as restless and upset as she was.

USC (10) over Boston College (7) -- Congrats to Uly's Trojans.
Arizona (12) over Utah (5) -- The second 12 over 5 this tournament.
I know I am bragging a little early, but the Pac-10 is 5-1 so far, and the highest seed was UW at #4, so it is not like they have had gimmes.
Big 12 is 6-0, Big East is 6-1 (5 teams seeded 3 or higher are 5-0, 1-1 in two 6-11 matchups in which they were the 6 in both games. Lost one and won the other by only 1 point), SEC will be completely eliminated unless if LSU upsets UNC.
The ACC is 3-2 with 2 of those 3 victories by #1 seeds over 16. Wake Forest is currently losing and Florida State is winning.

My Midwest bracket is in tatters. I had West Va. and Wake in the Regional final.

I may have East coast bias as I move to 8-0 in the East with Wisconsin beating Florida State. ACC is now 3-4 with 2 of those wins coming against teams seeded 15 or lower. The Big Ten is 4-3 with Siena beating Ohio State.

I was a terrible picker for tonight's games. I must recheck my computations, as I may have made an mathmatical error somewhere along the line. My group ranking slipped considerably, but that's okay, because I got to see some very exciting basketball. I have picked a few players who are my newest very best friends. (I still love my oldest VBFs, though.)
Good going to Mr. LB and Mr. Uly, who now are sharing the #1 spot.

The Midwest region -- the 4, 5, 6, and 7 seeds are gone.

I was thrilled to see Ohio State lose after the committee put them in Dayton. I mean, an eight seed getting that big a home court advantage seemed unfair.
Plus, my friend's sister used to date the Siena coach when they were kids.

WHAT?????? How did that happen? Next thing you know USC will be in the final four.

I was a terrible picker on the late games yesterday also, Miss Annie.
But aren't we proud of the Big 12, six teams and all six advanced to the second round!!!!! Now if after this weekend they all go to the sweet sixteen, the middle of the country is going to compete with the noise of the thunderstorms in the area.

When I filled out my bracket I was undecided on BC-USC so I did what the people who actually win these things do. I picked USC because I have a friend who used to live in California.
Last night's games probably messed up everyone's brackets. I was 25-7 in the first round.

Last night's brackets were very good for a couple of us. And UCLA co-operated today by losing.

UCLA had a terrible game. They needed a little seasoning.

They've had plenty of the off-season to get some more seasoning.

You'll be happy to know we're tied again Annie, but unfortunately it is not for the top spot anymore....

This is what happens when they're not good enough to stay in California until the Final Four.
Although they bitched enough about having to come east (talk about feelings of entitlement! A six seed complaining about where they're sent!)

I'll bet she is always wearing her Rockies hat while she's posting.....
Or maybe that cool plastic helmet with the mountains on top.....

You're mixed up again.
I'm the one who has to wear the rally cap/hat when her team is
behind.
