Hugo Award nominees announced
I've already read four of the five nominees for Best Novel -- Anathem by Neal Stephenson, Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, and Saturn's Children by Charles Stross. The fifth nominee was by John Scalzi, whom I've never read. Maybe I'll check out his nominee. --Bob

Are you going to vote? I was a voting member in 2004 and it was fun. Maybe next year I'll do it again, but I'm a little too busy this year to read everything.

I'm not sure. It's been about 25 years since the last time I voted, and more importantly (to me), I haven't read any of the short fiction nominees. I'm about five years behind on my magazine subscriptions, and that's after allowing my subscription to Asimov's expire. --BobRafferty Barnes wrote:Are you going to vote? Traditionally all the magazines put their nominated short stories online for free. Its good publicity for their publication. Neil Gaiman was even talking about seeing if his publisher would put The Graveyard Book up on his blog.

Y'know, I noticed that they did that last year but I hadn't realized it had become tradition. Maybe I will pony up for a Supporting Membership. --Bob (who gafiated after the 1985 NASFiC in Austin)Rafferty Barnes wrote:Traditionally all the magazines put their nominated short stories online for free.
