earendel and elwing sail into the West
Not the Uttermost West, AKA the Undying Lands, but the two of us will be traveling to Denver, arriving late Sunday evening, April 5th, and departing the morning of April 9th. I'll be attending the DoD e-Business Conference, while elwing will be partaking of the tourist attractions.

Way cool! Have fun!
Here are my two "must see" recommendations:
The Colorado History Museum
The Denver Museum of Natural History.

Uly, I think you're looking for the Museum of Brass Instruments in the Music Department at the University of Denver.ulysses5019 wrote:Is there a Hooters there?SportsFan68 wrote:Way cool! Have fun!

Re: earendel and elwing sail into the West
I did some looking at some Top 10 sites.
I'm sure the National Western Stock Show is great, but it's at the end of January. As I recall, you two aren't sports fans, or I'd check the Avalanche and Nuggets schedules. Also listed on various sites --
The Denver Zoo is very nice.
Water World is great fun but doesn't open until the last week of May.
The Colorado State Capitol Building is just like a museum in many parts of it -- be sure to snap a photo of that insane golden dome, and it may be that you can't get in these days unless you have business or are with a tour. If you're interested, take ID and leave your firearms at home (kidding!).
Elitch Gardens is wonderful.
All the sites seem to mention Birdhaus Bash and Ocean Journey; I've never been to either.
I have toured the Molly Brown House and enjoyed it immensely, but it's a little out of the way. I don't know your transportation situation, and I'm sure a couple of public transportation pros like you won't have any problem at all if you decide you want to go there.
Be sure to look in at the 16th Street Mall. I still have one or two free burritos at Chipotle's left from my swag at the Dems National Convention; PM me your address if you want them.
I've never been to Heritage Squire or Buffalo Bill's Museum; I intend to get to both one of these years.
If you can fit in an extra hour or 90 minutes to drive over to Colorado Springs, there's the Pikes Peak incline railway, Garden of the Gods, and the Air Force Academy Chapel, which I think you would love.
You'll love it! Have fun!

LOL! When I met PaleRider for lunch, he suggested a sports bar owned by a former Broncos player. It was wonderful, with all kinds of Broncos memorabilia all over the place, NTN on Tuesday nights, AND it was right next door to a Hooters. He did not even hint that we should go there.ulysses5019 wrote:Is there a Hooters there?SportsFan68 wrote:Way cool! Have fun!

Aw, c'mon. Denver isn't even west of the Rockies. A ship then new they built for him
of mithril and of elven glass
with shining prow; no shaven oar
nor sail she bore on silver mast:
the Silmaril as lantern light
and banner bright with living flame
to gleam thereon by Elbereth
herself was set, who thither came
and wings immortal made for him,
and laid on him undying doom,
to sail the shoreless skies and come
behind the Sun and light of Moon.
