Am I cold blooded?

#1 Post by sunflower » Tue Mar 17, 2009 10:59 am

I am always cold! I used to use my space heater at work until it was deemed illegal. Now I freeze.

I bought a little desktop thermometer thinking I would be able to use it as evidence that I need heat. It's currently 77.5 and I'm freezing.

It might be because the air blowing out feels cold by the time it hits me, or that just the feeling of air circulating is making me cold. Or there is something seriously wrong with me. I keep my house at no higher than 72 or 73 and I'm fine. Usually it's even lower than that.

If there's air circulation nearby you, you can feel cold even if the temperature is that high.

You started by saying you're always cold, but then you said you're comfortable at home with the thermometer around 72, but you're cold now at 77.5. IANAD, so I can't suggest anything medical-wise, but are you dressed differently in the office than you would be at home? Are you wearing a sweater or not doing so as you might at home?

Find the vent. Block it.

I keep a 4" fan on my desk. Without it, I would be miserably hot at times.

No, I've always been cold!!! I used to weigh 50 pounds more than I do now and I was cold then. Maybe not as cold, but cold. I also rarely sweat when I work out, it used to freak my trainer out...I would lose weight but I would never sweat. Weird, huh?

It is nice in the summer, because I don't get hot as easily. But it sucks in the winter.

Sounds like you need to move down to FL with pea in the winter.

I think so! Although I'm still always cold inside, offices never seem to regulate the temperature quite right.

I know that even though I am going to Las Vegas where it is warm, I need to bring winter clothes to wear inside the conference rooms at the hotel. They are notoriously cold.

I think I probably also need to get this vent to not blow directly on me. In 3 days I will hopefully be laying by a pool at the Wynn, being quite warm, if only for a few days.

No - I've been tested for anemia and my iron count or whatever was fine. I do have low-ish blood pressure, I don't know if that contributes to it - someone once told me it did, but it wasn't a doctor.

NO ONE should wear speedos. I will only grant exceptions to athletes during an athletic competition. They should be banned on anyone at anytime other than that.

You might get arrested for that! You might have to settle for lying by the pool.

You could have an iron deficiency. Maybe you should have some blood tests done.
