I'm sorry to read this, that's way too young. He was one of those "impossible to miscast" actors, like Donald Sutherland. He made a good good guy and a good bad guy. I loved to hate him on "The Practice."

I didn't realize he was that young.

The New York Post is rather blunt in its headlines, aren't they?

For obvious reasons, I've identified with him over the years. I wasn't aware he had cancer. I liked him as an actor a lot, especially what they rather cleverly did with his character on The West Wing. I'll miss "Cousin" Ron.

I enjoyed him in whatever role he took on. I am sad to hear of his passing.

He truly was a gifted actor, seamlessly fitting in. even though an occasional visitor on West Wing, he jumped into the emsemble w/o making a splash.

I never knew he had cancer, either.

Another fine actor from dramas and comedies who will be dearly missed.

He was a good one, and will be missed. I'm out of touch enough not to know either that he had been sick or that he had become such an activist. Good casting, then, for West Wing, especially his character's apparent political flip-flop in the last seasons.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Silver was a very visible liberal activist for years before his views changed after 9/11. From what I gather, his views on social and economic matters didn't change as much as his belief that the Republican party would take care of national defense and combat terrorism better than the Democrats.
