What happens if the contestant wants to use his Ask The Expert(s) lifeline on the Netflix video question? Would they replay the video clip and feed it to the Experts over the Skype connection? Or would the contestant have to describe what he saw when he viewed the clip? Or would ATE not be available for that particular question?

I presume they could play the clip for the experts over Skype.

Perhaps 15QA or hermillion could tell us what's happening on that Skype connection, in between the times experts are actually called upon to help? Are they completely isolated or is an AP on the line with them? Or do they perhaps get a live feed of what's happening in the studio during the taping? Sometimes, the conversation indicates that they already know some of what's going on, regarding the availability of other lifelines, etc., before the ATE call officially begins.

I wondered that today as well, although the experts have made comments that seem like they know what level the person is at (before Meredith says specifically what it is), so I wondered if they are watching a live feed. I hope someone can share with us!

I don't think they're seeing a live feed. If they were, they would already know the question and wouldn't have to read it after the contestant asks to to use the ATE lifeline.

Wednesday's show is an excellent case study of why you don't want to use ATE before ATA. It certainly was an unconventional order of lifeline usage.

Are you saying the audience is swayed by the experts, perhaps just a tiny bit?

Could be, but the expert was pretty clueless, so he (there was only one Expert today) started out by asking the contestant what he was thinking and then pretty much just agreed with him. So the Expert actually hurt the contestant by making him reveal his thinking, which polluted any subsequent audience result.
