March 2009 Drive By Whine and Complain

#1 Post by takinover » Sat Mar 07, 2009 2:42 pm

Hello all.

Is it really necessary to spoilerize everything in an entire thread when it is obvious that that thread will provide spoilers? Examples are the "Lost", "Survivor", and "Amazing Race" type threads.

There might be some folks who navigate using the "next thread" links. Those people may not want to be inadvertently spoiled.

Where is the "next thread" link? I've never seen such a thing on this board.

In general, I think a spoiler warning in the subject line should be sufficient.

It's actually "Previous Topic" and "Next Topic"

I'm not sure if they appear on all formats. On mine, the links appear on the right side just above the blue bar that is just above the posts.

I don't have any "previous topic" or "next topic" links. I have always used only the default settings, partly in an effort to maintain commonality with the majority here, and partly out of inertia. I generally prefer simplicity to complexity, despite the availability of Hello Kitty templates, or whatever.

Confessor, I believe most of us (at least those participating in the discussions) switched to the "subsilver2" format. It has the avatars on the left and has the links that Cal described.

I am not going to spoilerize anything that happened yesterday - in the body of a post, I mean.

the end

I did learn that it is nice to post in the header what my post is about (the show) and to not post 'gossip' without saying it is gossip in the header.

the end the second.
