If you didn't like the new Tropicana package

#1 Post by christie1111 » Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:35 pm

You won!

Strong consumer feedback has forced Tropicana to revert to the former packaging.

Complaints called the packaging 'generic looking'.

I have to agree, I hated it!

YAY!

The funny thing is, Stop and Shop came out with a new generic, Sunrise Valley...it looked like the old Tropicana! I wonder if they got a spike in business from people who weren't paying attention.

Erin liked it. I bought Minute Maid Light lemonade and Tropicana Light lemonade in 2 liter bottles for Rain Man to taste-test, and Erin picked the Tropicana bottle out every time. She was not influenced by anything but packaging since she can't read and didn't even try the other kind.

Anyone care to join my petition?

Let me guess, though....the new and improved Easy Pour (TM) bottle, which is easier to pour because it's 7 ounces lighter, isn't going away, is it?

Dawn dish detergent is the latest culprit altering its bottles to offer you less for the same price. The new bottles just started coming in this week.....

I buy Dawn in the Hernia Jug size. I almost won't complain if it's easier to fill the sink dispenser with the new design...

I don't think that one changed, it's the orange juice in the refrigerated section that changed.

It's that 70's-style sunburst design, just like the oj.

Really? My store must have old stuff, they still had the same old bottles last time I looked last week.

My store having old stuff is not a surprise, I often have to alert them to expired stuff on the shelves and if I need a lot of produce, I sometimes have to go somewhere else because it's gross. I've been known to abandon a half full cart because of it.

He's even too busy to compile Sploofus scores! At least HE doesn't have to wait for an administrator to let him in. But I'd hate to see the avatar...

I just did a search for "croutons" on this Bored, and in a year and a half, there's only one post that uses the word croutons that doesn't have maggotty in front of it....

I don't know if that's sadder than the fact that i looked it up though...... :P

I'm surprised because I bought it at the local Farm (not) Fresh where I've had issues with expired food before. But the store was on the right-hand side of the road when I was coming home from Rain Man's school, so I stopped there rather than crossing the street to my preferred store...

Croutons have lots of calories. If you're trying to be healthy by eating a salad, it's best to avoid them.

Obviously, you wouldn't be eating a salad, beast, so that's a generic "you". :P

I can't even get good avatars for Expired Ranch Dressing or Rancid Sour Cream. That's not something visual. And Diabolical Avocado would have to be a cartoon or I'd have to touch one up in Paint....

I don't understand why I didn't have a nasty food MM to go with those classics of yours and Troll's. I think I always drug out Glowing Potato when they were invoked. Now that I have one, I expect to see my other friends waiting at the gate to be let in anytime now...... :P :P

I'd have to make them all moldy or something. You can only tell "rancid" by taste or smell...

For some reason, Minute Maid is much less expensive than Tropicana around here and just as good. Sometimes Minute Maid is even less than the Kroger house brand. Anyway, I won't be buying Tropicana no matter what the packaging is.

I think Minute Maid is from concentrate. Sting seems to think there is a huge difference and the price difference is worth it.

Not being a oj drinker, I just shrug and do what he wants.
