Last Week

#1 Post by TheCalvinator24 » Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:30 pm

Was a bad week.

I don't want to go into the details in a public forum, but let's just say that my accident on Friday was the "high point" of the week.

I appreciate this Bored for providing me with a mental health break at times.

Hope this is a much better week.

Share if you want or don't, whichever.

My gosh, I'm glad I showed up today.........

Let's see here........you baited your line, you got in the fishing boat, you threw your line in the water, but you don't really want to catch a fish. Ok, I'll bite........what the hell happened?

I know it sounded like I was baiting the Bored. Really, all it was was a mild vent.

Saying the accident was the high point was a bit of hyperbole. However, the other bad things were far worse.

I will share three of the items. The rest is not mine to share.

This weekend was the final weekend of my community theatre's run of Cheaper By the Dozen. We had a decent crowd Friday night. Saturday, when I got to the theatre, the Treasurer was in the office to get the box office set up. He asked me if I had any idea where the money that should have been in the cash box was. Somebody had stolen all the receipts from Friday's night's ticket and concession sales. We have never had really tight accounting procedures in place, so we don't know for sure how much money we lost, but we estimate that it was around $500. That amount is devastating for our little non-profit theatre.

The second item also relates to the theatre. On Sunday, the Treasurer told me that somebody had broken into our storage unit and stolen some of our furniture that we use occasionally for sets. He had gone out to get some things from storage that we were planning to loan to another theatre.

Item #3: calvinatorette IV has e coli in her urine, causing an infection. She was getting an ultrasound on her kidneys this morning. No result yet.

Sorry to hear that! On the thefts, I would suggest calling your local news station, maybe they'd want to do a story. Usually when things like that happen around here, they'll do a quick story and the donations come pouring in. People typically care when non-profit groups get screwed. I'm sorry that you did, and maybe you could get some help that way.

That is a lousy week. I'm sure I don't have to tell you the money stuff is just stuff. Rotten nonetheless. Your little one being sick is bad stuff. I truly hope she makes a quick and full recovery. I had e.coli once and it is about as miserable and as sick as I've ever been in my life.

Hope it all gets fixed real soon.

Yikes! I hate people who steal....just low life.....I'm very sorry.

Any idea where the little one contracted the e-coli? I'm glad it's been diagnosed and I'm guessing
treatment has been started. I wish her a speedy and full recovery.

Things are going to get better - they have to. Report those thefts to the police department if nothing
else. The scoundrels don't need to think they can get away with it so easily. I think Sunflower's thoughts
as well about contacting someone in the media...newspaper or tv. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that; especially about your daughter. Money and furniture can be replaced far more easily than people's health. Hope things turn out okay for her.

As for the thefts, this might be an inside job, which makes it even worse.

I hope everything works out for you on both fronts plus anything else that might have contributed to the bad week.
