For one of LB's favorites....

#1 Post by Evil Squirrel » Wed Feb 25, 2009 2:23 pm

I'll bet this portrait gets critiqued!

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

--squirrelmama (10/3/07)

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

Well, to start with, I don't see that any of the campers were trying to spell that word! :P

So, who are the campers? Besides ES, I mean.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

When I was younger I went to Camp Grammada.

Well the one in the middle is a little too close to the campfire and is practicing some crotch pot cooking.

Has ES ever done a portrait of Beast? :?

Actually, a family portrait of him and the Beast Sisters might be nice!

Yes, as I recall it was with his handtruck and his Fabuloso.

As for the campers, I'd say it was Estonut and His Corrections. A raccoon, a kangaroo and an incontinent lemur.

Why doesn't ES have a meccamallow on his stick?

ES roasts acorns. Meccamallows probably constipate squirrels....

Isn't Estonut the counsellor? The big blue rabbit?

And are those three campers supposed to be particular BBs or not?

I'm telling ya--nobody but clem wears sneakers like that!

Yes, the campers are the Corrections. If you look at ES' gallery, you will be able to identify them by my described species.

At least I think so. I'm always the one who misinterprets ES' cameo hi-jinks, so I could be wrong....

I don't know who "the Corrections" are? Can you just name names?

I know.

TPTB tell me that all the time. :|

BTW, how does Fanny see that camper in the middle as a kangaroo? That's not a kangaroo tail!

Maybe because she knows who it's supposed to be, and knows it's supposed to be a kangaroo tail, even if you don't see it that way....

Cut ES a little slack. He doesn't get much practice on outback species..... :P

Well, that is clem, isn't it? Clem will smash ES's nose if ES dared give someone else his shoes!

And clem and ES are already at odds after that Dating Game incident!

Thanks, ES. It's about f'in time!

I've been around the various incarnations of the Bored longer than most everyone here. After seeing old-timers get portraits without ever setting foot over here or newbies appear, get their portrait and disappear into the ether, I expected to never get one. Had I known I just had to nit-pick a few people, I would have played up that aspect ages ago.

In keeping with the theme, "Kumbaya" is the most common spelling, with "Kumbayah" being used about half as many times, and various alternate spellings of that or "Kum Ba Yah (or Ya)" trailing behind those two.

ES, your attention to detail, while probably inadvertent in this case, is impeccable. Check out the eye colors.

MarleysGh0st, my interpretation is that I am the counselor, while the campers are (L to R, of course) littlebeast13, clem21, Evil Squirrel and ghostjmf.

Now I've got to read up on making it my my avatar...

See, Beast, was that so hard? :P

I was wondering WTF that link was supposed to be to, then it hit me what it was.....

That is totally cool and was completely unintentional!!! But those are the best things about the portraits, the details that I just stumble upon by blind luck!

I am bummed I couldn't get a Paquette reference in there though....
