Answers & Points - Lyrically Speaking - 2/25/09

#1 Post by Clem's Groupies » Tue Feb 24, 2009 11:27 pm

Woohoo!!! We're Clem's groupies, and we've hijacked today's Wacky Wednesday game just for our man Clem, because he's sooo awesome!!!! (swoon) We heard from our beloved clem that LB was treating him really mean in Lyrically Speaking by not using any songs he knows... not that there isn't anything our hunk clem doesn't know! He's so smart, it makes our faux-blonde hair stand up on end! <giggle!>

Anyway, we wanted to make sure clem gets what he wants like he deserves, so we made up this game just for him! He will be so happy to see that his biggest LS wish will finally be coming true! And if we're lucky, maybe a few of ours will come true as well! (Screech!)

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist, and lots and lots of JJC points for our clem!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!!!

1. We're callin' everyone to ride along
To another shore,
We can laugh our lives away
And be free once more.

2. Oh yeah life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin is gone

3. Sergeant O'Leary is walkin the beat
At night he becomes a bartender
He works at Mister Cacciatores
Down on Sullivan Street
Across from the medical center

4. Young and beautiful, but someday your looks'll be gone
When the others turn you off, who'll be turnin' you on
I will, I will, I will, I will be there to share forever

5. I was raised by a toothless bearded hag
I was schooled with a strap right across my back
But it's all right now
In fact it's a gas

6. Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be

7. And with the new day's dawning
she felt it drift away.
Not only for a cruise
not only for a day

8. _____ wasn't old, but he was a man
He lived in the sand at the Isle of Man
The kids would all sing, he would take the wrong key
So they rode on his head on their furry donkey

9. You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty, we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Ah but that never hurt me once

10. If you return me,
to my home port,
I will kiss you,
mother earth

11. Old woman old woman, oh you treat me so mean,
You're the meanest old woman that I ever have seen,
Well I guess if you say so
I'll have to pack my things and go (that's right)

12. And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alone
So you said that only proves that i'm insane
We love clem!

2.) Jack & Diane--John Cougar Mellencamp, 3.) Movin Out--Billy Joel, 4.) Love Will Keep Us Together--Captain & Tennille, 5.) Jumpin' Jack Flash--Rolling Stones, 6.) Piano Man--Billy Joel, 8.) Happy Jack--The Who, 9.) Only The Good Die Young--Billy Joel, 12.) You May Be Right--Billy Joel. HA!! Is that all you got, ClemGroupies? Our boy just aced your little quiz without breaking a sweat. Your guy's got nothin' on Boney--he STILL gets OUR girdles a'burnin'! Oh, you shoulda seen him back in the day. Oh, sure, some of the girls liked that Beethoven dude better--they'd try to get us to go see him when T-Bone's band wasn't touring--but we were loyal to the Boneman.

You little tramps these days don't know beans about bein' groupies. All you gotta do is lift your shirt and you think you got it made. Back in our day we had to lift 17 LAYERS of undergarments to catch a band guy's interest. On the plus side, you did build strength that way. Stamina, too!

So listen, punkettes--you want some tips on how to be a REAL groupie, stop by and see us. Visiting hours are 5-8 pm. See if you can get T-Bone to come along. He hasn't visited us since they stopped making 78RPM's. Tell him we got a little somethin' for him.....
T-Bone still makes our hearts flutter. Or maybe we just forgot to take our medication.
