WTF is up with Kate and Where is Aaron??? How did they get Hurley out of jail, and who is the woman with Sayed? Is the pilot going to be a pseudo red-shirt? Who gave Jin a uniform??? I'm soooo consoozed!!!
They need something to fill up the rest of the season...a1mamacat wrote:Spoiler

I must admit I am looking forward to the next one as I usually enjoy Locke-centric episodes.

I also found it interesting that they used the time flashes as a convenient plot device to semi explain the smoke monster episode before last. I wonder if we will see it again. Although it was noted somewhere earlier that the 4 (originally 6) toed statue will make an appearance in its original state at some point and it seems likely that it is connected with the temple that the smoke monster is "guarding" so maybe we will get a little more explanation. Then again the others and/or Dharma built the sonic fence as a defense against the smoke monster so perhaps they have no more idea about exactly what it is than anybody else does.
Good point. I had forgotten about that.clem21 wrote:tanstaafl2 wrote:They need something to fill up the rest of the season...a1mamacat wrote:Spoiler

Yes they do. At least the others do because Ben had the ability to control it last season. He went into his secret little hieroglyphic room and called it, followed by it massacring Keemy's crew.
Yes, I like the pop up version and often watch it before the new episode. But these seem a bit more basic than they did when they first started doing it on some past recap shows. Good to hear ratings are up although hopefully the guarantee that it will play out to a conclusion would have kept it around as long as the ratings didn't completely tank. And the 8PM slot is a tough time period anyway up against AI. I sometimes feel like I am the only person who doesn't watch it around my office.silverscreenselect wrote:Ratings for this week's Lost were the best of the season and a considerable jump over the week before. For the first time, Lost beat Fox's Lie to Me (which benefits tremendously from American Idol as a lead-in) in the ratings.
This is a bit of surprise and shows that there's more Losties out there who want to keep up with what's going on but don't feel threatened if they miss one or two weeks. ABC's current strategy of airing the previous week's episode immediately prior to the new one at 8:00 on Wednesday (with popups which help clear up some confusing plot points with casual viewers) may not get good ratings by itself but do make it easier for viewers to stay in touch with the show.
