Movie Week, Slumdog Revisited, and the Oscars

#1 Post by coasterick » Wed Feb 18, 2009 10:11 pm

1. Is Movie Week airing next week?

2. I saw Slumdog Millionaire for a second time, and did enjoy it more, since I knew what to expect. My wife loved it. (I told her when one graphic scene was coming so she knew to hide her eyes.)

3a. Has anyone in the Movie Week Hot Seat ever actually been to the Oscars? Do you think TPTB would find such an experience interesting?

3b. I AM going to the Oscars this weekend. No joke. I will only believe it when I get there! Can't WAIT!

I don't recall hearing that anecdote from a contestant. What do you mean by going to the Oscars? Do you have a ticket to be inside with all the celebs? If so, how did that come about? A big, over-the-top story would probably interest them. OTOH, if you mean you're going to be with the crowd outside the Oscars, watching the celebs walk in...probably not so much.

As KT--err, I mean KT's friend--can tell you, the APs are looking for really outlandish stories in their Movie Week contestants. And even a story that might sound good from a twentysomething may not be enough to overcome MAWGishness.

I think if you went to the Oscars with a cute former BAM contestant, that would up your chances.

I keep house like Oscar Madison and I'm often confused with Oscar the Grouch.

Oh, and the only Oscar to win an Oscar was Oscar Hammerstein II (I think)

I got invited by a friend who is a member of the Academy; one of the few times I will wear a tux without playing in a band. Yes I will be sitting inside for the show.

Then I spend the rest of the week at Disney; I will give a report upon my return.

Thanks...and when is Millionaire Movie Week broadcast this year?
