The Wynn

#1 Post by sunflower » Thu Feb 19, 2009 11:47 am

I just booked 3 nights there through Hotwire when I am in Vegas next month. 3 nights at Treasure Island are on the company, as it is a business trip, but the weekend before I was exploring many options. When the rate got low enough on Hotwire that I couldn't resist, I booked it. Wynn, here I come!! :) :)

Oooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh. Nice.......

Vegas keeps writing and begging me to visit. Free rooms here, cheap room with free food and slot tournament here, cheap room with slot credits there.

All I need is someone to watch these kids, and I'm out the door. But Spring is when a bunch of drug studies crank up, and our calendar is filling fast...

It's been about a year and a half since I've been there...and the rooms weren't cheap the weekend I'm going, but I already booked my flights so I had to make the best of it. I chose to do that by going to a fancy place!! But Hotwire rocks like that, and there are so few 5* hotels on hotwire that I knew it was one of two choices, not a huge gamble.

Go in the fall, it's nice then too...just not in August...I learned that the hard way!

Bring 'em to NYC, and I'll watch 'em. I love kids and I'd get the added bonus of having an opportunity to turn the young 'uns against you...

I go in August because then even the airfare is cheap! I mean, only a fool would go to Phoenix or Vegas in the summer, and that fool is me.

January was mid-50's, so walking aroung was nice. I once went the first weekend in April for a wedding, and it was also mid 50's, and raining.

I just wish they'd work on the smoking deal like Atlantic City did.

Too late. :P

Besides, we're looking forward to corrupting YOU in Vegas sometime, and we can't have you violating your probation for Child Endangerment by leaving the city. So maybe no Child Endangerment in the first place is a good idea...

Wasn't there a discussion a while ago about having a Bored get-together in Vegas?

Clem can just drop off Mini-me at The Clintonville in Whitestone with a plate of spaghetti. That could hold him for an entire weekend if the Mets aren't in town. If they are, just leave him at the ballpark. He could park Rain Man in front of a subway map, and he'd have all the routes memorized and possibly have a job driving by the end of the weekend. Stephen is fairly self-sufficient and can help with Erin. But those two could run up a credit-card bill like nobody's business. So maybe I'll just wait until dad's around to keep tabs on the crew....

What dates are you going to be there? I may have time to swing through there after seeing my girls in Denver before I start working in Phoenix.

I'm arriving late on Friday 3/20...staying through about 4 pm on Thursday 3/26. Tuesday 3/24 and Wednesday 3/25 I'm in meetings all day for work, but the rest of the time is totally unscheduled as of right now.

I think I'll be there before that if I go. I expect to have gotten the call about working in Phoenix before then. You never know though.

Well I'll be there so if your plans change let me know.

Same goes for anyone who may find themselves in the area on those dates. We can all go for an In N Out burger!! :)

Let me know if you'll be in Denver March 6-8. I'll be there for the state Dems JJ dinner that weekend.

Unless I get the call from Phoenix saying they want me there by then, yes, I will be in Denver then.

I'll be back in Vegas the first weekend of April. I think. Enjoy the Wynn. Did you decide to do the Grand Canyon?

I may or may not be back in April for a conference, but that would be the end of the month.

I haven't decided yet. It sounds like I might need more time there, and it also sounds like it's a sketchy time from a weather perspective. I might just play it by ear and see what happens, see how the weather is, and decide. Worst case scenario I end up paying for 2 hotel rooms if I go out to GC and stay there. I just don't want to plan it all then have it not work out.
