Alan Rickman IS Snape
Just watched Prisoner of Azkaban again...I don't know if there has ever been a better casting decision.

I agree, and I say that knowing that the best is probably yet to come. Snape's biggest moments in the entire series happen in Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.

Re: Alan Rickman IS Snape
I posted this once before a long time ago, but must again in this thread.
Most have never heard of this movie, but it will blow your socks off. Rickman steals your heart in this very unusual tearjerking yet comedic love story.
PLEASE rent it - you won't be sorry. (and do not read about the plot - just enjoy it.)
Have seen it at least a half dozen times, and loved it each time.

Re: Alan Rickman IS Snape
I posted a while back that the reason the Harry Potter books came along when they did was so that Rickman could play Snape. I couldn't find that post; musta been on the old Bored.

I dunno -- I love him so much as a villain, I dunno if I can stand seeing him in a romantic role.

He plays somewhat cantankerous, so you'll still love him in it.

Now that, I think I can handle. I wouldn't recognize him as Snape.a1mamacat wrote:The Emma Thompson version of Sense and Sensibility casts him as Colonel Brandon.SportsFan68 wrote:I dunno -- I love him so much as a villain, I dunno if I can stand seeing him in a romantic role.

Of course, the role for which he should have won an Oscar was Galaxy Quest.
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

Since you said don't read the plot, I won't explain/spoil any further than asking if this is the one with Juliet Stevenson? If so, I agree GREAT MOVIE!Second Chance wrote:I posted this once before a long time ago, but must again in this thread.

It probably battles for second with Die Hard as my favourite Rickman (after Dogma).

Yes! That's the one. Any Rickman fan should see it. Would you consider it a chick-flick? I think it's an everyone-flick.Sisyphean Fan wrote:Since you said don't read the plot, I won't explain/spoil any further than asking if this is the one with Juliet Stevenson? Roth woulda been like Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. He's OK, but he's not perfect like Harris was. Kinda tough to play somebody after you've died, of course.

Re: Alan Rickman IS Snape
I don't like chick flicks, so I wouldn't consider it as such. However, some people's definitions vary. I like a nice tearjerking sobfest just as much (if not more) than the next person, but I don't generally like romantic comedies and those are what I call 'chick flicks'.Second Chance wrote:Yes!
