Ahem...I think you're forgetting something. Some people have birthday celebrations twice a year. I can't believe you forgot about the half birthday, already.

I prefer to celebrate unbirthdays. 364 times a year. 365 in leap years.

Is THAT why? Makes total sense!!! My birthday is in the summer, so that explains a lot. I don't think we celebrated it in school though.

In kindergarten when it was your birthday you got to wear a construction paper crown with your name on it. I was so excited and looking forward to my birthday (mine was towards the end of the school year so I suffered for months watching everybody else wear crowns).

Then the day came and.....nothing! I was devastated, but managed to hide it. I was too shy to come right out and tell the teacher, so I kind of hinted around all day (well half day, because it was kindergarten), but she never got the message. On the walk home I finally lost it and cried all the way to my grandma's house.

And I've hated celebrating my birthday ever since.
