I always enjoy Friday the 13th, but I can't wait until the one in November this year. November 13th hasn't fallen on Friday since 1998.

Ahem...I think you're forgetting something. Some people have birthday celebrations twice a year. I can't believe you forgot about the half birthday, already.littlebeast13 wrote:littlebeast13 wrote:minimetoo26 wrote:Happy beast Day!

Hmmmmm.....should I not play LS to give you a rest from scoring my vague, lame answers, or just go on a Merry Man rampage......decisions, decisions....?
How about I actively help campaign Sprots to give ES his Valentines' Day lovin' instead?

I didn't forget your half birthday, but even FT13 trumps that this year!
Throw in my half birthday and real birthday, and I have 5 13th celebrations to look forward too this year. And LOTS of presents from mini.....

You say that like it's a difficult task.
Sprots sent ES a bouquet this morning. The flowers are all muttering something like "Feed me Seymour!".....

I thought half birthdays were only for kids whose bday fell during the summer. so they'd get a one during the school year like everybody else.sunflower wrote:Ahem...I think you're forgetting something. This generation, anyway. Because back in my day (snorts and hitches up lap robe) your birthday was when it was and you sucked it up and carried on with things!

So THAT'S where Audrey crept off to!
Sunflower, don't feel too demanding for celebrating your half-birthday. Last year I baked a cake with candles and sang for Erin at least three times when it wasn't her birthday. I drew the line at the pinata she wanted, though. And she's not an only child! She's number 4. But the only girl, and her birthday is around Christmastime, so if it helped her feel more special and less like she was lost in the shuffle, no biggie. Her brothers enjoyed bonus cakes, but refused to use the Cinderella plates I put out.

Is THAT why? Makes total sense!!! My birthday is in the summer, so that explains a lot. I don't think we celebrated it in school though.Sisyphean Fan wrote:I thought half birthdays were only for kids whose bday fell during the summer. so they'd get a one during the school year like everybody else.

No Cinderella plate, no cake! It's a package deal, boys.minimetoo26 wrote:Sunflower, don't feel too demanding for celebrating your half-birthday. In kindergarten when it was your birthday you got to wear a construction paper crown with your name on it. I was so excited and looking forward to my birthday (mine was towards the end of the school year so I suffered for months watching everybody else wear crowns).sunflower wrote:Is THAT why? Then the day came and.....nothing! I was devastated, but managed to hide it. I was too shy to come right out and tell the teacher, so I kind of hinted around all day (well half day, because it was kindergarten), but she never got the message. On the walk home I finally lost it and cried all the way to my grandma's house.
And I've hated celebrating my birthday ever since.

I'm glad we just used plain old Hefty plates and none of that girly crap growing up....
And I'm glad I shared a birthday with Sister #2 so she could soak up all the birthday attention. Give me my gifts and cake and leve me alone.....

[Grandma Mini] Back in my day, kids didn't bring in birthday treats for the class anyway. But it would have been overkill for my parents to send ME in with a batch of cupcakes since I had a Sugar Holiday for a birthday.
