I thought it was the 14th we were supposed to wear red, but I'm wearing a red shirt today. I guess I'm accidentally doing what I'm supposed to do!

Wearing red to work probably isn't a great idea. Just ask our ensign friend....

No, it is for Women's Heart health.

I have a red dress pin too.

Now that you say that I seem to recall seeing red dress pins, but I never knew what it signified.

Back when I still had a zest for life, my entire wardrobe used to be mostly red, pink and black. I hadn't really realized it until now when I was trying to think of what I would wear that would be red, but almost everything I have now is black and grey.

I think the only red thing in my closet is a Cornhuskers sweatshirt  , although I could probably dig around and find an old Calgary Flames t-shirt if push come to shove.

We have about 40 female faculty/admin/staff members in the building, and probably 30+ wore red today. Every single adult male wore a red shirt or tie (I think they all called each other last night and reminded  ). I helps that our 7th grade counselor had a heart attack in Oct., and SHE was reminding everybody about this earlier in the week.

The kids wear uniforms, but there were several who showed up with red socks on . . . and did NOT get referrals for it.

Trust me to screw the deal up.

So Steve wanted to go out on Friday night, and I made sure to wear a red sweater (an itchy cashmere deal with the tags still on from a bygone Christmas or birthday--red doesn't suit me) and I dressed Erin in her red velvet top with the sparkly heart.

Then I ordered a steak, which came with mashed potatoes topped with cheese and bacon, and had a malted milkshake for the first time in forEVER. And had fried clams as an appetizer.

But I wore red for heart health!
