I've been watching the browsing list like a hawk this morning, and when I first saw you on it, I thought we were about to get more Spam....

You mean the spammers can get away with it, if they identify themselves as Merry Men, first?littlebeast13 wrote:I've been watching the browsing list like a hawk this morning, and when I first saw you on it, I thought we were about to get more Spam....![]()

If a spammer could figure out what the hell a Merry Man was, they deserve to stay!MarleysGh0st wrote:You mean the spammers can get away with it, if they identify themselves as Merry Men, first?littlebeast13 wrote:I've been watching the browsing list like a hawk this morning, and when I first saw you on it, I thought we were about to get more Spam....![]()

Beast has to designate you as a MM. You can't give yourself a title.

But what's the secret handshake that lets him identify other people's MM as one of the club?

Too late - there's not a Ponderosa anywhere in my town. Too bad because our family used to go there often. No Bonanzas, either.Ponderosa wrote:You wouldn't want me to go out of business, would you?

Is it still there? I wasn't aware of that. Too far to drive to, though, so it might as well be closed to me.NellyLunatic1980 wrote:Are you talking about the one on Preston Highway? The moderators have a button which gives us the IP address from which a post was sent, and tells us what other members have posted from the same IP address. So if, for example, Ebenezer Scooge shows up and his post has the same IP address as was used for a few thousand posts from, say, MarleysGh0st, we draw the obvious inference. --BobMarleysGh0st wrote:I knew that.Ponderosa wrote:Beast has to designate you as a MM. But what's the secret handshake that lets him identify other people's MM as one of the club?

Not that I'm ever going to set up an MM (seeing as how I haven't even figured out how to fully set myself up yet), but do you take into account people who post from both home and work?Bob78164 wrote:The moderators have a button which gives us the IP address from which a post was sent, and tells us what other members have posted from the same IP address. Re: Don't forget our date today!
Sounds like this secret moderator button keeps track of all IP addresses, so they'd be able to double check a new address against all the usual haunts of our established BBs. The only way to maintain the mystery would be to log in from a public access terminal or some other computer you've never posted from before.silverscreenselect wrote:Not that I'm ever going to set up an MM (seeing as how I haven't even figured out how to fully set myself up yet), but do you take into account people who post from both home and work?Bob78164 wrote:The moderators have a button which gives us the IP address from which a post was sent, and tells us what other members have posted from the same IP address. For the record, Ebeneezer Beast is not my Merry Man.
