top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Tue Feb 03, 2009 6:13 am

The number of people in our city without power is down to 31,000 as of this morning. Unfortunately Rivendell is still included in that number, or was as of last night. :( If there's anything good in all this it's that elwing and I are using the fitness center more than usual - it gets us out of the crowded apartment for an hour or so. The bad news is that forecasters are calling for 1"-3" of new snow today and tonight and the same amount for tomorrow.

I'm hoping they're wrong. We're packing up the car and heading south today. I've had enough snow
and ice to last me for a very long time. I don't remember weather like this here when I was growing
up.

The hotel where I am has 4 power company trucks and they were up and out early today. Maybe they will
be headed to your neighborhood. I hope so. Good luck!

It's snowing here in Lawrenceville. We're supposed to get 3-4".

Yep, it's snowing. The cars and the parking lot are completely covered! I hope the roads
aren't too bad as we try to head south. Missy's husband stayed with us, so we do have
a semi experienced driver.

The weatherguessers are saying anywhere from 1"-10" up our way, basically snowing into tomorrow morning. They haven't a clue on the track of the storm. I am going to start selling weather rocks and send one to each of them.

Drive safely, Kay!

Good luck with the power grid, ear!
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Thanks, ya'll. We made it home about 5:15 yesterday afternoon. It snowed for several hours even
driving south. The windshield washer sprayers were frozen solid (a bad design as they are on the
hood of the car) and it was a challenge to keep the windshield clean and be able to see.

Missy's husband did a great job of driving. It's cold here this morning - 18 degrees!! What's up with that?
I did see where the high on Saturday should be 69, so I won't complain too loudly.

Thanks for all your concern. I'm working on stacks of laundry and plenty of errands to run today to catch
up after being gone eight days.

Bad design? Maybe I'll get recalled and be put out of my misery in the crusher...

Winter here is high in the 60's and lows in mid 40's - teens are uncommon. Sorry for the confusion.

"Someone" could have come to chat last night to let those worried about her know she arrived safely...............

It's gonna be in the 50's and 60's here in a few days too, but for now, 5 degrees will have to do...

I'm sorry. I was very tired and had a tiny little upset happen about 8:30 - and I just couldn't make it.
Thanks for worrying about me, though.

I hope you have some good conditioner - or maybe you can buy some at Mecca. You're gonna
need it for that toupee. I want pics, too.
