I saw this and thought you meant Fred Phelps.

He & his band of loons are coming to picket my daughter's high school next month.

That is the dumbest thing I've seen this year.

i admit, the year is young.

Haven't a clue, other than being in New York

Gay related - the blurb off their picket schedule
Albany High School - God Hates Fags! 700 Washington Ave Upward of 2,900 young souls are attending and being lied to regularly at this High School in Upstate New York. Since we will be in the area, it is time for these children to see/hear a little truth for one time in their lives. Each time your parents, and the other adults told you "It's okay to be gay" they tell you three things: 1) God is a liar; 2) There actually is no God; 3) You have free will. Those are all lies, and we will tell you the only truth that might save your never dying souls, to wit: God Hates Fags, God Hates Fag Enablers, God Hates You, The Siege Is Here, You Hate Your Kids/You Eat Your Kids, Obama Is The Antichrist. Now if that does not fix you, nothing will. As a forewarning to you little violent beasts, read this story about what happened to the young adults who mocked Elisha when he came to prophesy to them: 2 Kings 2:23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. Oh for some well-placed she bears. AMEN!

Probably just cost himself millions in endorsements.
So? He'll probably pick up plenty of others from companies who want a young, cool, honest, partying spokesman.

I think he said it was irresponsible too.

That, somehow, makes it better?!

O.K. How about . . . Michael Phelps. He had a DUI after the 2004 Olympics, when he was only 19.

It did not affect his endorsements at that time.

Now, the combo of the two "mistakes" may put a dent into his pocketbook, at least until we get closer to the next Olympics.

I'm guessing Santanio Holmes' endorsements won't suffer from his weed trangressions.

Of course, Phelps wanted us to believe he ate so much food because he trained so much. Now we know the truth!

I would say he's a natural for Doritos commercials, Pepperridge Farms frozen chocolate cakes...

And which of them picked up endorsements because of their legal transgressions? "In spite of" and "because of" are two entirely different things here.

Well, Zsa Zsa Gabor to name one.

You make a good point of clarification. I just don't think in this time of war, unemployment, foreclosures etc. people are going to get all uptight about some kid partying with no harm to anyone. Besides, once he starts competing again, he'll have to be living pretty clean if he wants to pass the drug tests.

From the Associated Press:

"Michael Phelps doesn't seem to be in much hot water with his sponsors despite being photographed inhaling from a marijuana pipe. From apparel company Speedo to luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega, several sponsors are standing by the 23-year-old swimming phenom — at least for now — and have accepted his public apology."

So he did some bong hits.

So what?

He should go do endorsements for the Summer X Games.

Aren't swimmers supposed to be goofy, offbeat, rebel types, anyway? It will probably only increase his endorsements, cachet, popularity, etc.
