Military History looks like an Achilles' heel for me. So does the evil art category at $250K.

Two teachers on the same episode. Very nice!

A: Clay B: Paper
C: Straw D: Sand
In the Bible, clay and sand are both associated with weakness. So this is a nasty question for somebody who has never heard of the phrase "feet of clay". I am one of those people. I would've had to ask the audience.

I had no problems so far with this stack.

I can relate to the girl on the college bowl team. I was the only girl on the quiz bowl team in high school for 2 years!

I read on 15QAway's site that starting next week, we are in for RERUNS for 2 straight weeks. Ugh.
I'm just a game show nerd.

Nothing like getting right down to it.
Nihil obstat® so far. And thanks to Marley for doing the transcripts. I hope I have power restored in time to do this week's.

Just FTR, the phrase comes from Daniel 2:31-36:

31“You were looking, O king, and lo! there was a great statue. This statue was huge, its brilliance extraordinary; it was standing before you, and its appearance was frightening. 32The head of that statue was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze, 33its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. 34As you looked on, a stone was cut out, not by human hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and broke them in pieces. 35Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, were all broken in pieces and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. (from the NRSV)

As you can see the actual image is a mixture of iron and clay, but "feet of clay" has been the expression for quite some time.

You're welcome, ear.

As Kazoo pointed out, 15QA says that the show is airing repeats for the next two weeks. If that's true, we'll all have a break from transcribing. Who gets the show early in the day who can confirm this?

I don't get it early. In fact, it's pushed back an hour by the Laker game, but Zap2It indicates a rerun from 10/13/2008.

Yes, AD already quoted one of the choices that confirmed this in the "Not-really-a-spoiler from today's show..." thread:

Unless they really like pairing the answer "Itch" with the choice "B".
