April Vegas peeps

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Thu Jan 29, 2009 10:02 pm

Jersey Boys tickets are on sale for the week we're going (April 14-17). Let me know if you want some. Rear mezzanine is about $80.

We have not nailed down a date yet but my bet would be on the earlier show.

Tuesday Apr. 14 - 630 or 930
Thursday Apr. 16 - 7

I won't be able to make a trip in April. I wish I could.

April ain't gonna happen for us. We may be passing through around the first of June, on our way to California to see the HC. It will probably just be a drive-by, though, much as I'd like to stop and see the sights.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

OK then.

Please holler later if anyone wants to put together a July or August trip. It is hotter than hell then but very cheap midweek.

I think I could manage April
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Between the February surgery and the May wedding in Detroit (cousin's son -- big three-day Italian-Polish bash), I am not sure we'd be able to swing Vegas in April.

We'll see, though.

That week in April is Holy Week, and not just cuz it has my b'day in it, so it's out for me, BUT I'm pretty sure I can swing anytime in July and then August after the 17th.

We are all looking forward to it.

The rehearsal dinner is Thursday. There's a family dinner on Friday and a brunch on Sunday.

My cousin wanted to make it as big a family thing as possible.

If we get the chance, Boonie & I want to drive out -- I think the trip may be a bit much for TLAF -- and stop at Canton for the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the way out and Cleveland for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on the way back.

I visited both in the same trip a year or two ago (they are not far apart). You can get a Hall Pass for both for a slight discount.

What the hey! No Pea? Wah! And she was the impetus for this whole extravaganza! Well, now I need to come up with a new partner for marathon blackjack sessions... any takers?

So, one thing I just thought of... that week in April might be Spring Break for a lot of schools in the country; Vegas could be a zoo, with rooms at a premium - in availability as well as price. I like to stay at The Hardrock; they have those French doors that actually open up to the outdoors. Being a smoker (yeah, I know, I know), it's the only place I know of that doesn't seem to be overly concerned with those pesky suicidal jumpers. I know other places have "smoking rooms," but even I don't want a stinky room filled with smoke. I wonder if I'm the only puffing idiot left out there (well, me and Barack it seems), or if there's another girly bb with a similar vice who'd want to bunk up if my concerns about the cost/availability pan out...

Oh, and skoop - as much as I'd like to see Jersey Boys, I'll likely use my ticket budget to try to see Cirque's Love if possible. BTW - I never actually got to see Wicked before it left town! Some dimwit from Craigslist agreed to sell me her ticket for a decent price, then never confirmed the final arrangements to meet up for the exchange. Grrr.

Well, I'll be looking forward to seeing if this thing ends up coming together in April, or later in the summer - as I'm just a one-book-on-tape-roadtrip to the strip, so can roll with the flow. :)

Sorry I can't make it work for April.

I heard that Circus Circus has rooms for $25 a night. Don't know if they let you open windows there or not.

Does Vegas have no smoking tables?
