Im goin to Carnegie Hall on Sunday!
Just a bragadocious post, if you dont mind.
My Moonlette Jordan (the WE/WE that she is) will be dancing with her dance group in an invitational recital at Carnegie Hall this Sunday. She's been dancing since she was 3 yrs old, and in this group, she's the youngest dancer. She's very excited. I know Kay has sung there. (wonder if Judy has ever danced there..)
Funny thing, the thing starts at 4pm. Many dads are rumoured to be MISSING it for a certain reason. I will go, and will be Tivoing.
I sure hope I dont miss the halftime show, either.

Congratulations to Jordan! Hurray for her good dad, too. (By TIVOing, you can always go back and double-check the half-time show for any possible wardrobe malfunctions.)moonie wrote:Just a bragadocious post, if you dont mind.

Nope unlike Kay, I've never performed at Carnegie Hall nor even in front of it. As Jayhawker can attest, however, I did dance on the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street because, like Mount Everest, it was there.

My wife sang at Carnegie Hall when she was in high school (she also sang the national anthem at Shea).moonie wrote:Just a bragadocious post, if you dont mind.

Congrats. Carnegie Hall is such a cool venue. My son Jakob played there with his high school band (from Austin) several years ago - all the way from Austin, TX. I also had the pleasure of appearing on-stage at Carnegie Hall with John Denver in the early mid-1970's!

Congrats to her and to all of the family who supported her throughout the years.

You're a good dad to miss the Super Bowl, but how many chances do you have to go see your
beautiful daughter at Carnegie Hall? It is an experience of a lifetime. She will never forget it.

OK, I admit it. My first reaction to the header on your thread was "How did you get there? With practice, practice, practice?"
This is way cool. Perhaps a once in a lifetime event, or perhaps a portent of even bigger and better things for your child.
Either way, enjoy and congratulations to all concerned!
