ABC Greenlights V Remake

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Fri Jan 30, 2009 11:29 am

ABC has confirmed that they are proceeding with a remake of the highly popular miniseries, V, which led to a shortlived, not-so-popular regular TV series.

The original series featured lizard like aliens (who appeared human but were giant lizards under their Mission Impossible styled rubber masks) with very bad intentions who claimed to be friendly "visitors." The original miniseries was notable for sexy villainess Diana (played by the whatever-happened-to-her Jane Badler), who in the show's most memorable scene, was seen swallowing a guinea pig whole, as well as offering future Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, his first significant role as an alien who actually was friendly. In this version, developed by some of the talent behind USA Network's The 4400, the aliens would still be up to no good, but this time they would be tangling with a single mother Homeland Security agent whose son is the first to figure out the aliens are evil. No word whether the aliens will still be lizards underneath it all.

ABC is also developing Eastwick, a TV version of The Witches of Eastwick, presumably as a supernatural version of Desperate Housewives.

That's probably why John Updike died. :(

Oh Good. We desperately need a show featuring disguised space lizards who consume human flesh, and occasionaly interbreed and produce superhumans with lizard tongues....

Hey, it's an improvement over "Game Show in My Head"!
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I hated the original miniseries, but I'm sure this updating of the heroine will make it so much better!

Are you perhaps missing the word "over" in that first sentence? Or "instead of"?

Could be a Freudian slip.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.
