I did that so often it wasn't funny. I want to work out a way to get through this without looking at the damn clock next year. But you have to hit "submit" or your answer won't count either. And to see the "submit" square you have to look at the clock.

They said it takes whatever's there at the end of the time

I think you're wrong. Whatever you have typed in the box when the clock runs out gets recorded as your answer.

I was under the impression that whatever was typed in when the 15 seconds was up was recorded, that you didn't have to hit submit, but I wont swear to it.

um, I don't think so.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

If I didn't type anything, I saw it say "pass" when time ran out. If I did type something and waited, it just seemed to take what I wrote and cleared that out for the next question. I think I'm right.

They definitely don't.

The Jeopardy board will have the whole test transcribed in a little while, and TJPTB certainly know about that. So it's not a problem.

From step 7 of the on-line instructions (bold text added)
Step 7
The test consists of 50 clues, and you will have 15 seconds to respond to each one. You may click “Submit Response” or hit the “Enter” key before the clock times out if you are ready to proceed, or you can wait for the full 15 seconds to elapse. Anything you have typed in the response field will be automatically captured when you hear the “time’s up” buzzer. You cannot pause, stop, or go back on the test.

Liberia is freedom.

I just thought of "prompt", to give an actor a line. I couldn't think of it during the test.

And to answer a question from earlier, you don't have to hit the submit button. Whatever you have in there when the clock expires is entered.

Hitting return is fine too. Whatever you typed in by the timer going to zero counted.

I answered Liberia, but I haven't been able to confirm that with Google.

By my take, I knew 23 dead cold.

I have checked my unsure ones, and I believe I got 37 (if Liberia is right) (38 if they realize that Australia is not just a continent)

I left way too many blank.

I came up with the first name of the Scottish Chef, but not the last name.

Okay, maybe I got 30 then.

Pretty sure not 35, but I think I did better than last year.
