Wouldn't have had to waste the lifeline at 16K so going into 25K with all intact. B and C seem unlikely so a good opportunity for the DD as I can't rule out the orchids. Surprised I had not heard about the gorilla discovery as that is something I would be interested in especially given my current interest in Africa in general but it was not something I was familiar with. Doubt I would try the ATA here given the importance of this level but maybe try it to gauge the response. But pretty sure I could reduce it to two so the DD makes more sense.

I would have given a quick correct answer to this, but perhaps for the wrong reasons. I read somewhere about the delightful discovery of more gorillas, although I didn't know how many, and in my mind they were "upland gorillas," of which there may be no such thing. I ruled out orchids because a guy with whom I went to high school works for the San Diego Zoo. At our last class reunion, he recently had come back from Papua, New Guinea, where he had discovered hundreds of previously unrecorded varieties of orchids. A fairly recent news story reported the discovery of many new kinds of rodents, snakes, birds and plants, including more orchids, in Southeast Asia (Laos, I think.) Therefore, for better or worse, I equate "new orchids" with that part of Asia and the islands of the Pacific. I would not have minded being right for the wrong reasons, of course.
